the perfect age for schol\oling should be 4+ years . It is me
it should be 4 +, only this is the age they can enjoy, otherwise they have to get up before 7am a early burden for puncuality and many more thinghs but working couples try to like this just for their convience, this is my view u can be disagree
okay fine this is your view but its ridicolous to say like this that working couples like this for thier conveince..will be much more harder for working couples to adjust to this routine rather than non working couples...main problem with most of the parents is they are happy with playschool routine thats it...whether its 3+ or 4+ oneday they will have to get up at 7am to get ready for school how long do you want to delay things...one cannot have kids sit at home till they are 10+ it was the routine we followed and our kids will have to follow the same its nothing new so please stop cribbing about these things.....
I think, the perfect age for schooling should be 4+ years.
I think it should be 3+ as child needs time to settle into a new enviroment. And main thing is if you are not sending him to the school then you are sending him to the play school. If you realy want to lessn the stress on the child then there should proper norms for the play schools, they should start only after 3 and proper schools should then be after 4.
Hi,

This should be 3 yrs now and it should not keep changing every year making nursery admission a roket science for parents. For years kids use to go to play school at the age of 2+ . So one year is quite good time for child to get prepared to face the normal schooling.

In my View 3+ is good for the admission in Nursery.
The perfect age for nursery should be 4+ years
Thank You Rashmi .. Seriously I start to wonder what is it that makes us all so unhappy and insecure about children just being and growing at their own pace .. We have made a rushed life for ourselves and don't have the capacities to engage with them or work to grow them in the "nurseries in our own homes" so we want to hand them over to schools to figure them out and find out about them and nurture them as best as they can. We don't have the time or the interest in doing it. Pop them out and trot them off out of the house soon as they start to walk.

Sorry just my own radical point of view.

I believe that even if they start "proper Big School" at 3 plus or 4 plus [we can't change it beyond that from what I can see in these responses .. no one would buy the 5 plus or later ideas] the schools should not keep the hours any longer than 4 hours.

Yeah I also wonder which countries are popping Nobel Laureates and Cutting Edge thinkers and Movers of the world ... Those going to school when they have started at 2 plus, 3 plus, 4 plus? I am sure there would be some of that .. Or do we want to start making factory products of cogs and wheels for the working machineries of society .. We do a great job of that anyway given our teeming millions. That kind of [bhed-chaal .. bleeting sheep follow the leader] training sure needs to start early enough before their minds can even comprehend what their immediate world is all about, what they are about.

Anyway this is going off topic so I will stop here ..

What ultimately I think one needs is good daycare to set up a routine [for the really young] / schools with flexi-system that have good after hours programmes for working parent children who wish them to be in a productive and fun environment while they are away. Clubbing of children by age .. and in appropriate sized classes for each age group [you CANNOT think there is going to be any quality care where 30, 3 year olds are dumped in with one teacher and an assistant]. Take it from there .. that if there seems to be a need for kids to be in school as early as possible [there as as many people voting for 3 plus as for 4 plus] .. help establish rules and make it mandatory for schools to comply by it .. That should get us somewhere. Than just fiddling around with one criteria - age in this cage.

Was all over the place I know. Forgive me :-))

Regards
Hello All,
I am a parent of 3 years old Daughter.. I strongly believe that age for nursery admission should be 4+...Let children have some relaxed life.. A well structured schooling causes lot of physical and mental stress for kids..
Leaving home early in the morning and then coming back after 1:30 is lot for a 3year old child..
finally someone giving a solution rather than debating on issues which are so character oriented.Unless we as parents are committed to bringing up our own children in a pressure free environment, I'm sure theres little anyone else can do.Some points I'd like to put in here:
1.Every child is an individual. We as parents are the best judges for identifying how well competent he is to enter the formal school scenario. even though a kid maybe four years old he still may not be ready for formal schooling. Only problem that then arises that admissions close up at the entry level and at the next levels schools are not so much cordial in inviting admissions. Most good schools take children purely on merit too class I and above though seats are limited.
2. Delhi has a number of schools. However the race for schooling becomes tough when we all land up looking for seats in a prestigious few. We should be open to all options and I guess that shld take off the pressure from us as well as from the kids. Some of the new schools do really put in that extra effort to bring out the best in a child.
3. Even if age limit is 3 plus I feel it should be the parents prerogative to decide whether his child is ready to enter school or not. Just because someone else's child has entered school at 31/2 doesnt mean my child too has to go even if she's not ready.
Hi it was nice to see someone spending time on this. i think the school routine has to be more innovative and receptive. As today's kids are way smarter than we were their age. they can spot exciting stuff from boring and regular. There should be more practical stuff like making them aware of what is around and not just mugging up from books.

The few hours away from home should be a learning experience for kids. the Age is a big factor but the initial years should be more receptive and wonderful than boring and repetitive. first five years are mile stones in child's care. So the age should be 3+.
