Exactly! If they say that the forms will be available from 1st Jan, then all the schools should release their forms on that date and same for the last date of form submission and release of the first/second list. That will make things convenient for us!

I read in Times of India dated Dec 16th 2010 that "a parent should have neither contacts in high places nor enough money  for capitation fees" . Then how could this guideline be a satisfied one? It's only a win for schools autonomous function and authority and not for parent community.

Not Satisfied. This is too much open and gives lot of manipulation scope schools. All schools should have the same criteria that should consider all aspect consdering that every child is getting an equal opprtunity for admission. Criteria like distance from school, Sibling are fine. There should not be any interaction with parents or the child.

Parents qualification should also be considered, and there should be some criteria for those children who become 4 years old on 31 mar 2011.Infact appropiate age for nur adm. is 4+.Both 3+ and 4+ age should be considered this time ,becoz last year Mr. kabil sibbal recommended 4 +age for nur. adm and it was said that it will be applicable next year. Now 4+ age should also be considered by govt. What abt. those children who are 4 years on 31 mar.?

They should be considered for KG /Prep   but   , unfortunately  are very limited   schools where only few  kids or one  section is added in KG. Maximum numbers are admitted in nursery only. I am in the same situation , My child is 4plus now. What are the choice of schools  for 4+ any  clue?? pl reply . vimal

There should be one policy and terms for all the schools for the admission. Just think about the parents who are facing the problem of different point systems and admission criteria of every school.

last year too this was the criteria of sibling but my younger son did not get admission in the same school.

Than wht is the proof that it is being implemented in the school. As we are not having the feeling that things are going in right direction .

Age limit should be 4+ for nursery class.

The earlier point system was better as now the schools are free to increase the fee/donation for the admission  As it is clear that 25% seats of shool will be from EWS, the schools will fill thier kitty from remaining 55% general category (20% seats are management quota).   We would not be surprised if they asked for double the donation from their last year.  It shuld be made clear that schools wud not increase fee or donation and they should be allowed to have interaction with parents/child before admision.   It is good that now parents wud not have to reveal thier financial details/education qualification details but now they would be forced to pay double the fee for the admission.. It should be clear as to who is going to bear the expenses for the eduction of 25% of EWS (fee/donation etc).

yesterday's guidelines have createm more problem for parents. Politicians for their benifit have given power to school to do admissions as they feel like. There will different system of admissions  for each school that will lead to chaos as every parent will need to track the admission critera for every school.

ALL THE SCHOOL SHOULD FOLLOW THE SAME ADMISSION CRITERIA.

Following criteria must be there:

  1. Neighbourhood (under ¾ categories like 1-5KM, 5-10KM, 10-15KM& 15KM above) with at least 50% weight age- we cannot pressurise our kids travel a lot daily in traffic to go to a school.
  2. Sibling & First child- same points as parent who wants one kid in family is same as having siblings & first kid is always special and we cannot deprive him of taking benefit which is available to younger one.
  3. No single parent’s points as family who are well settled are not at fault and nobody want to take divorce to get extra marks for their kid’s admission. It’s not a natural phenomenon; this is something which parents can avoid-no natural power stopping you to stay double.
  4. Girl child can be given some weight age but not too much as in today’s word girls are not behind anyone and don’t required a quota for their rights.
  5. No points for alumni as school cannot restrict themselves from new generation.
  6. Some additional point given to kids if their parents born in Delhi as delhiites have the right to get their kid admitted in good schools and creates the regional balance in country.
  7. Parents education can be considered but not the profession as an educated family can be in business, its not necessary for them to be professional. In this way we can respect the self employed people.

The persons who will be suffering are from general category.. One should ask the authorities to reduce the the management quota. Management quota will lead to school asking for donations and accommodation of persons with good links..
