All the schools should have uniform admission criteria, as this will result in greater transparency. Can't undertand why authorities took it so long to release them as these in its present form lacks any clear direction. I beleive even the interview thing would be far better than these so called guidelines.

Age limit should be 4+ for nursery class

Hi I am Kamal Sadana.  Tks Mr Vohra for not giviing up spirit.  But if you see this year I don't see any hope of further change in  guidelines as Political Nexus and School Lobbyist somehow in the name of RTE achieved their ulterior motives.  But for the next session I am all out in support of

1) Point System Evalution

2) 3.5 plus age criteria

May be my child will face obstacles this year but I am keep on providing my support.

Same point system accross all schools. Also age criteria should have been 4+ than 3 yrs as to let kids be mature enough to understand relevance of education and schooling

My daughter DOB is 26.02.2007 . Last year we could not secure her admission because schools gives maximum points for alumini , siblings , govt employee , transfer etc . As per RTE , it is the fundamental right of each child to get education , them why a child should suffer , just because she or he is the first child or his/her parent are not anumini of any school in Delhi . Is it is the only right of anumini's children / sibling brother / sister to get admission in Delhi school ??????.

So , it is my request that some seperate guidelines should be for first/non alumini child also.

very true..

- Neighbourhood

- No religious category (e.g. catholic) - it is also a screening based on religion

- Same criteria for all schools (and there must have a cap)

- A window of few days for all schools to make 1st, 2nd lists etc, however formal admission dates should be same across. This would help parents to make their choices/decisions based on their preference. (Heard cases where parents deposited fees to secure a seat because school of their choice had not declared results but the second choice school was going to close the admission)

- No lottery at all as it is chaotic

- A method to check on the transparency of the whole process.

Siblings and neighbourhood should be the 2 included with maximum points.

We are not at all satisfied as the ball is the court of Schools again, to make their own point system, so as to manipulate their admission process.

Secondly, as regards points of sibling- what happens in the case of single child, DO THE PARENTS OF A SINGLE CHILD BE PENALISED FOR HAVING A SINGLE CHILD, IN A COUNTRY OF SUCH BIG POPULATION.

Thirdly for points as regards Alumni- What happens if the school in which the parent studied has lost pace with the changing educational systems and has not taken part in the evolution process The parents of such schools also should not be penalised if they dont want their chidren not to study in the school they studied....In Case of new schools which have been added to educations system within this generation, how would they get admissions if they give points for alumni.

Lastly, the Education ministry has been a utter failure in giving a foolproof system for admission for this sessions and has again given the school all their sweet will to manipulate, AS WE ALL HAD PREDICTED. THEY SHOULD THEY TOOK SO LONG TO FORMULATE GUIDELINES, BUT THIER ARE NO GUIDELINES TO COVER THE SCHOOLS.

MR. LOVELY, PLEASE HELP US ALL PARENT COMMUNITY BY GIVING US GUIDELINES WHICH SHOULD BE APPLICABLE TO ALL SCHOOLS AND DON'T LEAVE IT TO THE SCHOOLS TO FABRICATE THEIR OWN GUIDELINES. WE REALLY THINK YOU ARE CAPABLE ENOUGH TO MAKE SUCH GUIDELINES.

Yaah, surely, we all are not satisfied at all. The crieteria on point system is totally unfair. The neighbourhood should be the first and foremost crieteria in point system basis and there would be some special weitage on transfer cases and on single parent cases. As notifed by the EDUCATION DEPARTMENT, if these would be the crieteria on point system basis then how many parents will get admission of their child.

As far as my view is concerned the neighbourhood should be the prime crieteria on point system and some weitage would be given to single parents and in transfer cases.

In either the way the guidelines are totally unfair this time

Of course none of us are satisfied with the given guidelines (are there any?).  Now the schools are free to have their own interests satisfied. As per my views, neighborhood and sibling criteria should be a must for all schools. As Monika has stated all school MUST have the same guidelines so that parents are not confused. Moreover, a centralized form, ( with a facility to be filled online) should be made available to reduce the confusion.
