Form Dates | Admission Criteria | Results | Fee Details | List of All Schools
Dear Parents
Yesterday i raised this point on delhi aajtak live show in front of principal springdales that Alumni point is discrminatory and she was blank did not have answer
My observations
RTE says you cannot do the profiling of kid on basis of parents education and income
But when we talk of alumni it means the parents is at least educated till 12 grade
so here discrimation is obvious between uneducated parents and educated parents
this suits schools the why this point is kept against RTE spirit
i personaly feel its like adding education poits
THEN WHY EDUCATION POINTS ARE NOT BEING CONSIDERED
PLEASE GIVE YOUR TAKE

i agree with you all , Alumini points should not be considered for admission . Let us consider 2 cases :
1) 1st child whose parents have studied in same school around 15-20 yrs back , it is quite possible they could have highest qualification as Graduation and in business now
2) 2nd child whose parents have not studied in same school , they are highly qualaified may be MBBS , Engineers
so considering above 2 cases , why we should give point just because of Alumini . I strongly recommend to consider Parents Education for points rather than Alumini
after allocating 25% for EWS , 20% management quota . Game is left for General category to fight hard for admission with only 50% seats
Alumni points has nothing to do with RTE or reducing chances of gen category students. If Alumni points are removed it will benefit parents who are not from the city and have migrated to the city for work etc.
More than gen vs reserved vs EWS it discriminates between same class of people on the basis of their origin from the city.
"Your kid gets into the school if you have been living here ever since you were a kid" - ridiculous
Exactly. many parents have one major asset in the form of Educational qualifications. Parents from best institutions of India would want best for their children too. This definitely becomes a part a kid's performance as the base matters a lot. but according to RTE, these r against the rules. but same holds for Alumni Quota points. this should also should not become a part of admission process as this doesn't have any relevance in this process. Many parents would definitely put RTI on this issue and i will be one of them.
Yes, this is a valid point. I do fully agree with this opinion.
I absolutely endorse your points of view.

Alumni points are totally against the RTE. I am willing to contribute money so that a common admission form is brought b the education ministry and parents are not forced to but the expensive prospectus from the schools. If the parents stand united we can contribute more than the schools.
Thanks a Ton Sumit sir for putting forth this point in your live talk against the principal madam yesterday...
Its a very valid point as RTE sans any form of discrimination be it educational qualifications or professional career of a parent.
Already General category is finding itself sqeezed with only 55% seats to apply for and then if schools profile in this way be giving weightage to an alumni which surely will be an educated one, it can jeopardise the chances of a lesser educated/uneducated parent.
Complete agreed with your views. It is not at all to be considered to enhance the scope for general catagory. It is injustise with the child as well as with his/her parents who are from outside Delhi.
