Form Dates | Admission Criteria | Results | Fee Details | List of All Schools
hmmm..... every right to be unhappy.
Giving points to an alumni is itself a kind of screening on the basis of education..again violation of RTE. Unless a parent has studied in a school, he cannot be called alumni or dipsite. If he has studied, obviously he is educated and giving points under this category is an open violation of RTE. I strongly condemn giving points to alumni.25% seats to EWS category is also quite higher percentage. Provision of awarding schorlarship or fee exemption is already existing in most of the schools. Then why so much seats for EWS. If it is not reduced, certainly leaves scope for schools to revise their fee structure and general category parents will be targeted. Which school will show its assets records properly? Unethical adjustments of records and balance sheets will be prepared to douse the inspecting authority.
In view of this whole drama, PIL should follow.
Very well pointed out Mr. Tanwar. It seems to be an unending battle since last few years. My daughter in class 1 now, faced the 100-point fury in 2008 and i'm already worried about my younger son who will appear for the same battle a year later.....
I think whoever framed RTE guidelines is himself confused as to what he/she wants.
One one hand RTE states that there should be no profiling on the basis of parents' income, and in contradiction has reserved 25% seats for less than 1lac income group.
Secondly, according to RTE, admission should be random, but till date no one is able to define the term. Only reply we get is that it is not necessarily lottery/luck, then what else.
Thirdly, RTE states that govt. will bear the burden of EWS students, but till date govt. hasn't claimed that it will fully reimburse the schools. If the govt. pays them peanuts, then indirectly it will be the parents who will have to pay extra from their pockets.
U remember the game show "Bingo" on television.........guess that is what is called random selection :-)
Giving points on alumni is definitely profiling on the basis of parents education and income level as well!
