Nursry Admission Upper Age Limit

Hi,

My child is January born, so she has just completed 3 years this month and hence, much much younger than the rest of her classmates. So am keen on admitting her to Nursery in the next session i.e., 2017-2018 to make it easier for her to cope up in class. But by next January she will turn 4+. Is 4+ ok for Nursery admission? Or is their any upper age limit criteria? Please help/advice. Thank you

Better to apply this year and take admission. Else very tough next year.

@tanya basu. Due to age if the criteria changes for nursery and if she is elder than the criteria then she will be going for higher class like KG/Prep. and seats will be limited and some schools wont have seats. so it will be tough to get her enroll in school of you choice.

My personal view is she's very young for nursery, you'll be surprised to see there's lots of pressure on even nursery kid...written work...alphabet...counting..
Her other classmates would easily get the concept given their age. We faced same issue with my nephew..He turned 3 in Feb...And was youngest in his class

Is she going to any playway..??

I think this is right session for getting admission as she has completed 3+ and she will be 3 yr. and 3 months old when the session will start. Children's IQ are very sharp and can pick up easily if interest develops. Next year will be difficult.

@tanya basu. In my opinion enroll her this year otherwise coming years will be a tough job for you to get her enroll her in school as seat will be lesser & lesser. She will adjust slowly & slowly dont worry. rest your decision

I think mostly are saying due to the age barrier. I did not get my son admitted last year owing to the same fact, He is Feb born and I thought he is too young to be admitted to nursery, too much pressure. I do not have any regrets as such, I stand by my decision though it is tough to get admission criteria met for 4+ kid and I somehow still do not agree for him to be put in KG.. so going through the process. Let' see. They have totally screwed up the basis of education for a child, all money making stuff.

@Tanya Basu. If the criteria remain like this for next year & schools rejects the child of 4+ for nursery then you have to go for KG and their seat depends upon availability. as many schools are rejecting registration till the court decision. thats why

Hi Tanya,

Same was with me when I took to the decision of NO last year. My son was Feb 23rd born. But I am facing lot of problems this year. My sons candidature is being rejected in many schools (including BAL BHARTI) as he is 4+.

If you can try this year itself. Or else make sure she is competent enough next year to join KG also if needed. The kindergarten she may be attending can you help you with it.

Though it is there, we are facing rejections this season.

However let me tell you, last season the no. schools rejecting 4+ applications was more. And last year 3 grace days were given at last after the court order for 4+ applications and the lists were appended for most of the schools. So this year many schools have dropped this criteria, but still some premium schools stick to the concept.

I have experiences with schools which accepted the online payment and form, but the physical submissions were rejected.

I also have experiences wherein certain schools took in writing that despite my child being 4+, I want him admitted to Nursery. And this letter was attached to his application. no idea whether they will even consider his candidature.

many schools accept the application fearing the action from DoE, however no idea whether they will actually give you a fair chance in the admission procedure.
