Nursery Admissions in Delhi NCR 2025-26

Form Dates | Admission Criteria | Results | Fee Details | List of All Schools

Hi,

My child is January born, so she has just completed 3 years this month and hence, much much younger than the rest of her classmates. So am keen on admitting her to Nursery in the next session i.e., 2017-2018 to make it easier for her to cope up in class. But by next January she will turn 4+. Is 4+ ok for Nursery admission? Or is their any upper age limit criteria? Please help/advice. Thank you

Even my daughter's candidature got rejected for nursery by Bal Bharati Public School as she is 4 years and 5 months. I got the DD done in favor of Bal Bharati School but got astonished to see that they are not accepting the forms for nursery for 4+. DOE did not set up any upper age limit as such for nursery admission but Bal Bharati school seems to overlook these guidelines.

Many Thanks,

Ajay

Are they rejecting to accept the physical copy of form along with the DD at submission time at school?

No, Ritu.

The BBPS is not accepting the DOB while filling the form online.

@Tanya Basu. May be schools will take registration form but will finally react after court decision on 19th jan. Hope all goes well.

Currently you are on same page where i was one year back and let me bring my experience to you.

If your child has good writing skills and recognisation skill now you need not to worry she will cover up nursery very easily.

But in case she lags in any of the above two schools its going to be very tough for her if she goes in school which follows montessori Pattern as i have faced issue with my child. But what i opted last year is get admission in Sachdeva and let see how child progresses as i do not want to take risk of being my child get 4+ and not eligible next year.

So this year i am going to repeat nursery again for my child and have two options one to repeat in Sachdeva or to get him in another much much better school then sachdeva.

So what i will suggest fill school forms this year get your child in the best you get and if she goes good continue or else repeat next year and try to find another better school.

Tanya my son is Feb born and in Nursery (School:Nirmal Bhartia). As of now we have not faced single issue because of his age.

His school has created sections based on age ,kids born between apr-jul in one section aug-nov in another and so on.  My son's section has kids born in the month of dec--mar so eventually all the kids are on same level.

Plus point is there is no burden on kids and parents gets constant feedback and workshops on how to take concepts with kids. There is no writing for nursery and concentration is on understanding, listening and reading.

I presume many good schools are following same pattern for section segregation and concept building.

If next year age criteria rule change then the schools would get your kid admitted in KG and then it would be more tough for her to adjust as KG is tougher than Nursery. You have more options now.
