Can you guys help me with Pros and Cons of VIS and Nirmal Bhartiya.
I know NB is expensive but it is just a matter of about Rs.3000 to 4000 difference. But is it really worth it? I have got a confirmed seat in VIS but I am leaning towards NB as the pressure on children is very less and then what I heard is that they have high ethical values.
On the other hand, VIS has also good reviews and parents whose kids go there are pretty satisfied.
Please advise. (Sakshi Mam - Pls respond).

@Vaishali as Nibs is a community school and for them parents are equally important ...They invite parents for all small and big activities going around the school...We even participate with our kids and do activities, crafts and projects which they do in school....That is the main reason they are so welcoming....It's weird for outsiders but trust me common for parents
hi all,plz explain me what do u all mean when you say its a community school?how is it different from public schools?
@Neha As per Nibs philosophy there are three core groups that make up community – students, teachers and parents.
Everybody is equally responsible and school tries to make bond stronger between kid and parents by actually involving them in many events and activities. Teachers work along with parents and community for the holistic growth of kid...
Few Examples:
--> They do culmination of monthly theme and invite parents....In that we can participate and do crafts and fun activities with the kids which they have done in class.
--> They have different events where in they call parents and take their ideas to make things more interesting for kids.
--> Teachers are in constant contact with parents.
--->They have events like Learning to learn (where in they teach parents how to make learning fun), Young at Art (Art Festival with lots of different events by specialists related to the theme), Project Exhibition etc.
--> they have different forms of PTM.
--> It's not just dress like radha & krishna on janmashtami but videos, stories, poems songs about janamashtami or celebrating Lohri with the whole school together.
--> collaboration is what they stress on and not competition.
We just don't go to school on PTM to take our kids report card and on Annual and sports day but actually get involved in every important phase of our kid.
thanks madhavi for information....really looking forward to be a part of nibs...
@Charu. I havnt seen Nirmal from outside & frankly saying i didnt like the maintenance outside the school building cant say from inside. BGS infra is simple have playground but lacks in swimming pool, canteen like Nirmal. As BGS dont allow outside foods only the food brought from home. Big difference in fee fee is around 6500/- PM including transport no extra burden activity. but academically BGS is one of the best school. Activities on regular basis. Good staff. So decide your self.
completely agree Nishant..have registered for NiBS...just trying to get to know it better...also bcoz we have been taught in conventional schools....seems a bit new and uncertain in the beginning..but the science works were truly impressive
@Charu What I have learnt so far that from class 7th Nibs would start exams just like other schools and by the time they come to class 9 it ll b CBSE syllabus for them....My only point is if a child's mind is developed in a way where he is not mugging things and understanding why how when of everything for me he or she is a winner
I don't want to name the coaching institute but I personally know the accounts teacher teaching to class 11th and 12th kids from all schools... she just said Nibs kids really understand what they are doing and how to approach towards problem solving.
Great...thanks Nishant and Madhavi ...that really helps....hope our decision is ok then and doesn't change over the next few days...
