PRE NURSERY AND KG AS NURSERY
CONFUSION ????????????????????????????

MOREOVER MAIN CONFUSION IS WHETHER PARENTS HAVE
TO REAPPLY AT 4+ OR NOT
CLARRIFICATION REQUIRED FROM GOVT ASAP
From the Indian Express
A contempt petition, which alleged that the authorities had failed to comply with its earlier order fixing four-plus as the entry age of a child in pre-primary classes, was dismissed. Justice G S Sistani accepted the government’s stand that a child’s admission in pre-school (nursery classes) will not automatically grant him/her the eligibility to continue on to pre-primary classes, for which the age has been fixed by the court at four years on or before March 31 of the year of admission. The child will have to separately meet all criteria for admission to the pre-primary classes even if he/ she has studied in the nursery classes of the same school, the government clarified.
From the Hindustan Times
Clarifying on the issue of nursery not being considered as feeder classes, education minister Arvinder Singh said: "So, as of now, a child who gets admitted to nursery will be promoted to kindergarten and Class 1 thereafter."
if age criteria for nursery admission is 3 years then next year the child will get promoted in KG automatically or do we repeat the entire process again?
Monika ..we have to wait and watch ..it will also be clarified soon BY GOVT
Dear Friends,
Till now no fresh government/DOE clarification has come on this fresh issue of Nursery admissions age criteria.(DOE had in its earlier circular dated 6th Jan2011, categorically mentioned age criteria of 3 plus for pre school and 4 plus for pre primary).
Current issue highlighted today is based on the order issued by Hon'ble Delhi High Court on 26th Sept.2007, in which it ordered that there will be only 1 year of pre primary class before class 1st and for that minimum age criteria will be 4 plus (i.e. for 1st class minimum age will be 5 plus).NGO 'Social Jurist' being run by Mr.Ashok Agarwal took this matter to the High Court in Dec2010 month and the court asked for lists of such schools violating the same on 23rd Dec2010. A list of total 21 schools with their advertisements was provided to the court where minimum age criteria of school admission was kept at 3 plus.
Pls see related news paper reports for detailed description of 2007 order and also on yesterday (11th Jan) events.
Request you all to maintain calm before any further clarification/order/guidelines by the Govt/DOE.
