yes, this is very demotivating. And with this trend there will be hardly any school where parents like us - without alumni and sibilings we will be shortlisted :-(. Really worrysome. So this means, if we haven't studied in so called good/reputed school or if we have not done our schooling from delhi....we have got no right to get our child admitted in good school. And if our child doesn't have a sibling....it's a offence too. Thanks for these guidelines DOE !!
i am scared other school will follow the same trend who have this criteria
parul a small thought here....schools are as good as their student pool.........its just a perception.....in this mad rush for so called good schools we miss out the vital point that lots depend on the student itself...his/her interest in studies.........cognition,,,,,,,,,,,,,atmosphere at home..............why the results of good schools are better because they screen students after class 10.........So bottom line is dont get disheartened if u are not in the list of good schools.........i can personally say as i studied in a so called very average school and still manage to clear medical entrance.

i agree with nidhi but point of concern is for every 1 selected candidate there were 34 (approx)kids who applied

if u see both list u will get my point

we must c 10th and 12th results also in routine

All looking towards right....may be solution lies in left!
well said kindly elaborate
Agree Nidhi...but school does play a major role in over-all development of the child...and this is where the difference between an average and good school count. Study- to a large extent depends on student. But the over all development- the confidence, the communication, the awareness, the knoweldge, extra curricular. the peer group...all this also plays a major role in child upbringing & thought process. Every parent wants to give best to their child and hence atleast an attempt to get into A+ schools.
Talking abt. the personality and overall developemnt can any of us forget MMS scandal at DPS 6 years back.....childtren studying in a reputed school in south delhi smoking pot and engaging in unimaginable activities.

Sakshi

How can we all fight with this...all gud schools give all seats to sibling and alumni...then what would happen to us..sleepless nights for all of us....Sumit ji has to raise this with media...screening is done on basis of parents education...

springdales is also on same trends ...they have given 65 points for both these category...we are hopeless of there as well...

I THINK HE HAS GIVEN THIS SIBLING/ALUMNI NEWS ABOUT DPS DWARKA TO  SOME PRINT MEDIA ALREADY TODAY

I had already raised this point earlier that there is practically no hope for non alumni and non sibling cases, it was an easy guess as they had practically negated neighborhood criteria by including all the neighborhood (the entire Dwarka and surrounding areas comes under this definition) to 25 points and rest of delhi 20 points. This difference of 5 point is nothing considering alumni 20 points and sibling 25 points.

For those who love numbers, analysis of their results:

For DPS Dwarka:

Alumni 51

Sibling 75

Neither Alumni Nor Sibling 0

Both Alumni and Sibling 1

Total Selected 125

Applicants rest of Delhi 70

Applicants from neighborhood 55

The more dangerous part is:

Going further,if this criteria stays: Then only the alumni will have sibling cases and school will become more centered to serve its alumni only. Should not it be declared a 'minority school' as it no longer serves to general public as such? Minority here defined as 'its own alumni'.

Unfortunately Vasant Vihar was no different with their results :-(

You have analysed better and already did a admission forecast. At last will be a family centric like politics. It is well proved that they have set the points according to their special needs.
