I feel he will get thru another couple of 2nd class schools whre we had applied only for back-up in worst case scenario and can't really imagine sending him to such schools. I was sent to such good schools.......it amkes me so sad to be not able to amnage the same for my kiddo........I am so very very very sad and depressed :(:(
here it is "DPS Rohini list"
Ronesh Yadav - name appearing in EWS as well as General.
General category

EWS Category
431 | EWS-11431 | RONISH YADAV | SUNIL KUMAR |
This is the reply I got for my complaint (number 201100298) to DOE regarding DPS rohini
"
DEO-XIII has been directed to ensure compliance and also depute 2 principals as observer. HOS had already asked to inform parents regarding drawn etc."
This chap must've applied through both EWS Quota and General. Is there anything there which specifically bans EWS members from applying as General candidates as well? If not, then we really can't do anything about it. However, I think I remember the website saying you cannot apply more than once - else your candidature will be rejected! This might be a case for the same. You might want to write in to the school highlighting this case.
Of course, we are assuming there aren't two Ronish Yadav having Sunil Kumar as a parent
Is there anything wrong. He can select one among two according to his option. Indeed a parent was informed by a school head that EWS child can add in General category too.
Nazneen, this is the New Year gift from our Govt. Same is the case with me - me and my wife having three Masters Degrees and a PhD among ourselves. We are both Convent educated from the (so-acclaimed) finest of schools. I'm currently thanking my stars for having been shortlisted in (so-called) second rung schools.
You should not be overly depressed because all schools teach the same thing (if anything). 90% of effort is from the parents and the kids themselves. The schools can trumpet their achievements; but in the end it is all a result of the child, his parents and his tutors (outside) school. I've come across extremely few kids who praise their school for their achievements.
If you introspect, it is more of a notional problem about not getting through a school of your choice. If you're really keen you still have 14 more years to get your kid through the school of your desire. Chin up :)
