What if your child doesn't get selected in desired schools?

Hi All,

As we all parents wish to get the best possible education for our children, not of all us can get our children to top schools. As the D-day is coming nearer, I wish to know opinion of all the parents and moderators on the below points:

1) What if your child doesn't get selected to top schools or schools where you desired? Will you compromise and get your child admitted to some 'mediocre' schools?

2) What if your child doesn't get selected to ANY Schools you have applied? What should be the strategy adopted in this case?

From next year Upper age capping, block in  any composite schools if you cannot get  change in KG at least you should be able to change later.

Can anyone tell me if I should think of admission in sapling Paschim vihar? 

My son only got selected in G D Goenka sec 22, St Froebel and Neo Convent. Can you suggest me is it worth to send him to Rohini sec 22 from Punjabi Bagh?

My personal suggestion is not to send your child this far for GD Goenka.. it’s not a sought after school.

Thanks, Navodita, I was also thinking the same. But not sure if St Froebel or Neo convent or Saplings PV is better than G D Goenka?

Yeah Gaurav, I have already dropped the idea for G D Goenka Sec 22. My College was also in sec 22 and know it will total waste of time and energy. But as an alternative i was thinking if I should take saplings in consideration as they are saying they have a tie up with BIS Paschim Vihar. And could look for alternative as I am in waitlist for Hansraj Model School WL#94 and Maxfort Pitampura? I dont know how good are these.

Do you have any inputs on the same? I know you are selflessly helping alot on this forum and would really appreciate your help on this as well.

Well, It's a relief and also good that you got one better than Hansraj. Saplings, I came to know from a friend of friend and his son is already studying there but is on the expensive side. They are happy though.

But I will look into the DOE or any such possible scenarios as well. Thanks for the helpful inputs.

I had applied in the following 24 schools for Nursery admission of our kid:

Laxman Public School -- (Hauz Khaz Enclave)

Mirambika -- (Sri Aurobindo Marg)

Modern School -- (Vasant Vihar)

Mother's International -- (Sri Aurobindo Marg)

Mount Carmel Pre School -- (Anand Nikaten)

New Green Fields School -- (Saket)

Ramjas School -- (R.K. Puram)

Sanskriti School -- (Chanakyapuri)

Sardar Patel Viyalaya -- (Lodhi Estate)

Out of same, our kid's name has been shortlisted only in Father Agnel School.

The lists consists of 205 kids.

And there too, they have mentioned that DOL will be conducted.

We don't even know if he has been selected or is in waiting list as the list is silent on same.

We have to go for document verification on 19-Feb-18.

Distance is really not an issue as Father Agnel School is about 5-10 minutes walking distance from our home.

We are really skeptical and anxious about future course of action if not selected in this school too.

The said school was not our priority, but now has become a priority since it's the only school which has shortlisted our kid.

Kindly suggest future course of action.

Wait for second list.

Ambience Public School -- (Safdarjung Enclave) ( you should get , try calling them) before depositing the FAS fees.
