Memorandum

From:AdmissionsNursery.com/V R ONE                       Date : 09/02/2011

To,

Shri  P.Krishnamurthy

Director

Directorate  of Education, Delhi

SUBJECT:  To raise the issue of parents plights in the present nursery admission process ( 2011- 2012) and to demand stringent action against erring schools.

The parents want  strict actions by the government against on complaints filed with DOE against schools for not following the government guidelines. Some of them include:

  • Salwan Montessori allocated points for achievements/profession of parents(which amounts to be screening of parents that is banned under RTE.)
  • Modern School  Humayun Road and Vasant Vihar branch both did not disclose any point system for  nursery admissions.
  • Vivek Summit/ Kidsway did not follow a transparent admission process
  • Bal Bharti (Rohini & Dwarka) had a non transparent draw of lots.
  • Laxman Public School and many others conducted draw of lots in the absence of parents (in case of LPS candidates for lottery were more than 1000)
  • K R Mangalam giving admissions to few parents with 70 points but others with 70 were not admitted (.Moreover on the parents on confronting the school authorities were told that it is a school management decision and they have to abide by it.)
  • Indian school  at Sadiq Nagar manipulated transfer points
  • Many schools including the above have not published the breakup of allocated points for the applications received.
  • Summerfields, K R Mangalam, Vivekanand and many other schools are giving admissions on first come first- come-first-serve basis·

 • Tagore International school has mentioned on its website that FEE ONCE PAID WILL NOT BE REFUNDED(Which is totally against DOE guidelines) and many other schools are doing the same, taking fee in cash and not giving the receipt. Doe should issue new circular for fee refund policy again immediately (Schools are giving excuses that there is no clarity/notification on fee refund policy this year)

Further the parents want to propose a Centralised Point System with centralized admission process with following salient features:

1. There should be one common form which should be filled by all parents who are seeking admissions for their kids, online/offline. The form should have all the required details and a few preferred schools.

2. It should be submitted to the DOE or the any concerned impartial authority.

3. Based on the details given by parents, the authorities should assign schools to each child (each child should be given a choice of 4-5 schools to choose from).

4. After this list is out, the parents should choose any one school and submit the same.

5. Once the list is final, the schools should be sent the list of the students who have been admitted in their school.

6  Scrap Alumni Points( Against RTE as alumni is educated till 12th so profiling against uneducated under RTE )

7 Transparency  etc

8 .Strict action against all (schools which flout guidelines)

            9. There should be a uniformity from sale of prospects to declaration of selected

                candidates.

           10. Upper Limit of fees should by schools to be fixed.

           11. Any guidelines should be analysed before implementation.

           12. No child should be left out without admission.

aslovely1968@yahoo.co.in

I hope all well Sakshi Ji...Why have you mentioned my name like this....??

Have I written anything wrong..??

No :) rather u  r big support , what i meant was we discussed mothers int point in ur presence(as a witness)
oh..al rite

and thanks daljit for doing so :)

Also MIL location criteria is quite strange - places like mehrul/lado sarai are not in 40 points list where as lado sarai is in 1.5 km. :)

Thanks Sumit sir , Sakshi maa'm and all fellow helpful parents to draft this effective memorandum and making DOE appreciate the same.

Today's protest is really a historic effort in the right direction and i'm sure it shall have a meaningful impact in times to come.

Wish all the best to all involved parents and pray that their children get their rightful admission seat in a preferred school.

Sumit Ji/Sakshi Ji,

Was anything discussed about Apeejay PP and VGS Rohini? Please confirm.

Hi Sumit and Sakshi and all parents,

This was really a historic moment for all of us. I think this memorandum is great and shows all hard work done.

Some Un Answered queries --

1) For parents like us, whose child's have not selected any where, what are the options?

2) I still feel that Sibling/Alumni/Transferrable jobs should not have so much of weightage individually.

3) General Seats should be increased and management quota should be reduced

4) Next year, there should be some relaxation in the age also (to accomodate this year's backlog)

5) What is the meaning of transparency in second list, if DOE is thinking that it will ensure that 2nd list will be transparent it means that DOE is also accepting that all list till now are not transparent, if this is the case then i guess complete admission process should be scraped.

Once again thanks to all of you and your hard work.

Thanks

Vipin Agarwal

I would like to give advise to the parents whos child did not get admission in any school in Rohini that please check with the following schools for their child:

1. The Soverign School

2. Titiksha Public School Rohini Sector-11

3. St. Xavier Shahbaad (child age 4+)

4. Delhi International School

5. Vikas Bharti School Rohini

6. Sachdeva Public School Rohini

7. Happy Home Publis School Rohini Sector-11

As these schools do have some free seats. But you know you need to check with them.

My son was shortlisted in First list in these schools but I got my favourite school too, so I submitted the fees and secure my son's seat in that school.

Thanks Bupender ji for this very useful for North Delhi parents.

Parents of East Delhi can look for Amity Vasundhara (Sector-1) (http://www.amity.edu/aisv/) as admissions are currently going on.

Also I think Indus Valley School (http://www.indusvalleynoida.in/) in Sec-61 Noida is also open for admissions in Nursery/KG.

Parents residing in Jasola, Kalindi Kunj, Sarita Vihar areas of South Delhi can look for good new breed of schools around Noida Expressway for any vacancy in Nursery as schools like Lotus Valley School (http://www.lotusvalley.com/admission_enq.htm), & The Shriram Millenium School (http://www.theshrirammillenniumschool.org/Schools/TSMS/Default.aspx), Pathways Noida (http://www.pathways.in/noida/admission-procedure.asp?over=Admission), Genesis Global School (http://www.genesisglobalschool.com/planavisit.asp?links=adm5), JBM Global School (http://jbms.in/admission_info.htm) can be approached.

Best wishes,

Bij:)

Dear Mr. Bij, can u please advise some good schools for people putting up in (South Delhi) Lajpat Nagar IV, New Delhi where there's a possibility of admission in nursery as we are totally confused n helpless??
Well said Vipin. If the system lacks transparency this time, let the entire admissions be scrapped, and start afresh, of course without submitting any forms again, which are already available. However, I know most of the parents who got their children to the school of their choice will not agree to this
