Nursery Admissions in Delhi NCR 2025-26

On the other hand, Shiv Nadar or HDFC have only Nursery and KG class before 1st standard and their age criteria is also lower (age 3+ as on march 2021).

How will the above schools comply with NEP? ( 3 years of pre school education mandatory before 1st and child should be of 6 years when he reaches 1st standard).

All 1700 schools in Delhi take admission at 3 yrs in Nursery.

Many schools are falling in line,as this year big schools like SN and DAV Sec 14 also reduced age to 3 yrs.

All schools have two classes before Class1.( Nursery and KG)

Schools use different Nomenclature.

Pre Nursery=Play School ( Not mandatory for formal education).

Pre School=Nursery=LKG.

Pre-Primary=Prep=KG =UKG.

Age is flexible in Gurgaon school specific in absence of any regulatory body.

SN, TSMS do not have Pre- Nursery.

So parents opt for other play schools In Case of SN,TSRS. ( Even if you don't send your child to play school it does not impact the nursery admissions ).

No one knows when "NEP" would be implemented.

Thanks for your response.

For example if we opt for Shiv Nadar school and send our child to Nursery class at age 3+, so he will be 4+ in KG after which he will move to 1st standard at 5+. But NEP criteria says child should be 6+ in 1st standard and there should be 3 years of formal education before 1st standard.

So in this case how will the school/child comply with NEP?

"NEP" is going as per "RTE".

But as per CBSE, you child should be min 5 yrs for Class 1.

Already lot of debate has happened in past regarding this mismatch, as education is state subject,so different states have flexible age criteria.

Let's wait and watch as "NEP" is only proposed till now.

When it is going to be implemented, no one knows.

Dear Sakshi,

Yesterday we had interaction at Manav Rachna Sec 46.

Parents were intimated about online link by MRIS earlier. They asked the kid rhyme, to color , color of his clothes, they also asked about various objects .Then they asked us our professional background and basic parenting questions, nothing much the teachers were polite.

We were bit jittery before the interaction but it was easy going. They made us feel very comfortable..

Hope this will help other parents.

IMO,This is the best platform for parents for helping each other, lot of my friends got benefited in previous years.

Same for me this year.
