Nursery Admission - Playschool Attended or not

I am applying for my son's admission to the Nursery. Most of the schools are asking in their form whether the child has attended a playschool or not. Due to COVID, I didn't send my son to a playschool and rather prepared him at home.

As per DOE, playschool is not a criterion for nursery admission. Does the school have the authority to reject a child on the playschool criteria? Should we be worried? Please guide.

Playschool has no role and you should not be worried.

Why most of the schools are seeking playschool details from the parents? Even they are asking to provide a playschool certificate. For reference Basava International School, Sector 23

They want to make sure that child is toilet trained and does not suffer from separation anxiety.

My only concern is that schools shouldn't reject any child based on attending a playschool. I hope schools will be fair.
