Section 13(1) of the Right to children Free and compulsory Education (RTE) Act 2009 provides , inter-alia, that while admitting a child, no school or person shall subject the child or his/her parents to any "screening procedure". Section 2(o) of RTE Act defines the term "screening procedure" to mean the 'method of selection for admission of the child, in preference over another, other than random method.
So no parents should take their children for admission and fight against schools if they follow any type of screening procedure.
Parents should not take for any type of screening in admission process and fight against the schools.
Hi,
this is abhiahek and I am a father of a 3 and a half year old son.Very concerned about the admission of my son .Currenty he is a Pre school.
It seems that formal schools are trying to hide the admission information instead of making it very clear.I went to Shushant lok DPS and they said that they have sold the admission formrs from APPEC centre.
May I know ranking of the good schools in GURGAON

Hi Sakshi,
I had written to u earlier regarding my daughter's case, she is November 2008 born and is not meeting the age criteria as laid by most of the schools. Though she fits in the age criteria for maybe few schools (i know only one , Lotus Valley.., it would be great if someone can let me know any other schools permitting this age criteria), i am really confused if i should get her admitted this year or shall wait till next year. I am worried that the age criteria should not change the next year, if the schools set an upper limit for age next year, i may have problems in my kid's admission.
I am looking for expert advise on this. Please share your thoughts. Request other parents also to comment if they have an insight into this.
Thanks!
