All the best! Don't lose hope - they may be going alphabetically maybe!
If I take Scottish, Shalom will get left out. If I don't , I'd wait for Suncity. As for the western impression of Scottish, had 2 very long chats just now - one with a Scottish child's parent and another with an ex-employee.
My Conclusion - not that western,they do have Indian prayers/languages taught/sung/spoken, kids are given a balance of both, quite activity-based and inclined towards learnings which help in day to day life and not just textbook knowledge.
After all the final behaviour will depend on family upbringing too, so why blame only a school for that, isn't it? But of course the father's opinion is eagerly awaited :).
dear dinesh,
can you plz share ur expierence abt Amity.
I am eager to know as we both are working and looking for school with good transportation and good balance of studies-extra crr activities....as per feedback from my office colleagues, Amity put lot of stress on studies (even in nursery class) with little devotion on extra cirr activities/ games. i donot want my child to put under pressure under early age of her life.
whats ur main reason for shifting? how is study, transportation, extra=crr activities.
in case you are not willing to share ur views on this platform, plz sms me ur mobile no on 9871487161, i will make a call to you,
thanks in advance.
@Anil:
Dear Anil,
My son was in Amity ( Amity PreSchool - Amiown, Sector -27) in Pre-Nursery and Nursery. Though it was not that bad from stress point of view but I had some other concerns for example I felt lack of interest on his teacher's part to encourage each child.
I decided not to continue with Amity further at the time when we were invited to have a visit to their secondary school in Sector 46. We were told teacher student ratio of 1:17 but on further inquiry I came to know that in single class there would be 35 students with one full time teacher and one teacher on rotation basis. Further, I came to know that they have 10 sections of each class, that means 350 students per standard. I did not feel comfortable with the number of students sharing that infrastructure which was somehow not adequate for that many students. From my point of view, It might have been ok for some extraordinary students but I consider my child as an average child who needs conducive environment , constant encouragement, and personal attention at this particular age. He should love going school, learning, exploring things on his own. I think that our responsibility does not end with admission into a reputed school. At the same time I am also mindful of the peers he will be getting in the class. I don't want him to be in between rich students who may not value hard earned money. All this lead me to get him admitted into a school that I feel is fit for next few years at least. No body can foresee too much in future. Who knows for how long I am in Gurgaon.
On stress factor, I have also heard that stress is more on studies but that is true for most of the traditional schools including DPS, DAV.
Regards
dear soumya,,,,you can try in all of them (good schools) becoz management is happy to see parents like you. the list is endless and each have its pro and cons. earlier you was waiting for call from sct high and now when u have got it, you are looking for other options as sopmebody has said something -ve abt SH......one shd go by his/her mind.
