Nursery Admissions In Noida: Parents Gear Up
Posted on Thu Sep 01, 2011 at 01:46:25 AM EST

Nursery admissions are all set to start in Noida from today with schools announcing availability of registration forms. Even as parents are busy collecting advertisements and information on the application process, most schools in the city say that they will adopt the 'first come first served' policy for the admissions.
The schools that have planned to kick off the process on September 1 include Delhi Public School, Cambridge School and Kothari International, among others. While some schools, such as Lotus Valley, have already started the registration process, many others including APJ, Amity, Somerville, Vishwa Bharti, Khaitan and Father Agnel will be starting the procedure later this month. Parents are, meanwhile, making a beeline to the administrative offices of various schools besides applying online.

Noida has more than 30 schools registered with the CBSE with a capacity for 5,000 seats that will be available for admission of children. Most schools are expected to receive almost 1,500 to 2,500 forms each, from which they will sort out the most eligible candidates for admissions. The minimum age of a child for admission to nursery has been retained at three years as on March 31, 2012 this year.

The admission would be based on a points system framed by the schools. In some schools a lottery system could also be used. Under the points system, applicants would be selected on the basis of the points scored by them and their child. Points would be awarded for various parameters decided by the school, including proximity of their home to the school. "Single parents, children with special needs, siblings studying in the school and alumni would be given preference in the admission criteria of some schools," said a principal of a leading school in Noida. "It's unfortunate that some institutions use income of parents and their educational qualification as a criterion for selection. This is unfair to these first generation learners," said another educationist.

Thanks for the article Lathaaji

Hi All

My house is under construction in Noida expressway belt scheduled to be completed next year and I plan to shift to Noida. Also I plan to shift to Noida sometime in Feb or Mar next year before the session begins (curently staying in Vikaspuri, West Delhi). In such a case I do not have any address proof of Noida except the provisional allotment letter of the house. Can a copy of the allotment letter and a copy of Agreement be considered as the address proof? This is a big dilema for us, hoping guidance from school authorities

Thanks

Ashish Tandon

when are you getting possesion

Dear Sakshi Maam,

We are currently residing in Indirapuram, Ghaziabad and our house is under construction at sec 119 . Possession due in Dec-11 as per agreement, likely by Mar-12.

Can I use the Allotment letter as proof of residence to apply to schools like DPSN / Cambridge Noida etc.?

Regards,

Abhishek
