The Admission Process
The requirements and the criteria: For Nursery (Pre-School) admissions, advertisements are usually given in leading newspapers around 1st week of December or as per the calendar prescribed by the Directorate of Education. Applicants meeting the admission criteria are short-listed and then names displayed in the School by the prescribed dates. Admissions are generally finalized by March. 25% seats are reserved for Economically Weaker Section (EWS) of Society.
Admissions to other classes are against vacancies arising out of withdrawals. Admission closes by end March and any further admission is subject to availability of seat and approval by the Directorate of Education and/or CBSE.
Each application is individual and we look forward to getting to know you through the process.
A complete registration form would include the following:
- Registration form
- Confirmation of the child residing in the catchment area
- Two photographs of the child with the parents
- Proof of residence(Photocopy of ration card/Passport/voters ID card)
- Photocopy of birth certificate, duly attested
You may apply once in a given year. The registration form is available from the school office between 9:00 am - 2:00 pm on all working days, which should be deposited at the school office.
No forms will be accepted after the due date is over.
Important:
- Donations are not accepted.
- Parents should not approach any person for recommendations for admissions.
Age Criteria:
The School uses the cut-off date of April 1st to determine the class your child will be placed in.

School Hours
MORNING The school day starts at 8:00 h, and ends at 12:15 h Pre-School (Nursery) & Pre- Primary (KG) students.
AFTERNOON The school day starts at 12:00 h, and ends at 16:15 h Pre-School (Nursery) & Pre- Primary (KG) students.
School Size / Class Size Growth of the School is regulated to ensure that the high quality of education at SMS is continuously maintained. The class size is limited to enable the School’s objectives to be met. A class size maximum of 35 is in effect.
Withdrawal Submit the withdrawal application in the School Office when you are sure of your departure! The submission of the withdrawal application releases your child's seat to the next applicant in the wait pool.
Health A nurse is on duty during school hours. She is available to students regarding any health matters they may wish to discuss. Services provided by the Health Office include first aid, advice and help.
School Bus Transportation System Salwan Montessori School provides an extensive Bus Transportation System. Our transportation service is mandatory. We recommend that parents discuss bus availability with the Transportation Coordinator.
Buses are required to arrive at school on time. The School reserves the right to alter bus routes and, therefore, pick-up and drop-off times, as deemed necessary. Parents are encouraged to use the SMS bus service and if not the school recommends car-pool. No Private vans or autos are allowed keeping in mind the safety of school students.
