How are Ardee, Shikshantar, Scottish High, American Excelsior - from personal experience/ gen. impression? * Posted by lost not found on July 24, 2009
How do you feel about the above schools? I am looking for a school that is well rounded. I am not chasing after the most popular schools - like the flavor of the month, just because everyone is talking about them. I don't want to lose focus in the scary rat race to get to the 'best' school there is out there.
Like EVERY parent, I want to give an uncomplicated, well grounded, rich learning experience to my kids. Experiential learning, good discipline, no stressing out on confused agendas. A school where my kids will enjoy going, and I will know that they are being taught well, being looked after well, and the school authorities are not burdening them down with studies. The faculty is knowledgeable, inspiring, people who are capable of becoming mentors.
The problem is that I don't know much about Gurgaon schools. I am shifting to the city next month. Therefore I am trying to catch up.
Please let me know with your knowedge, how are the those schools above - Ardee, Shikshantar, Scottish High, American Excelsior.
I have been to Shikshantar and Scottish High for a visit before. I somehow didn't have a very good opinion of them. Apart from both of then being money hungry- I saw wrong spellings on the notice board (Shikshantar), loiterinng students in unkept uniforms (Scottish High). I may have mis-judged.
Therefore - please share your experiences.

Hi , My daughter goes to Nursery at Scottish High. While I am also hearing a lot of negative feedback about the school like teachers leaving frequently, unstable management, money mongery, I cant neglect the fact that my daughter loves to go to school. Its difficul to keep her home at weekends :). I am myself debating whether I should put her into one of the better ranked schools. I want my girl to enjoy what she learns, even if she only learns 5 things compared to 8 things that kids her age are learning, I want her to have fun learning. She has to study for next 15-16 years of her life, may be let her have some fun while she is small...Scottish high gives a lot of liberal learning and extra curricular like horse riding, splash pool, movie shows, toy room, dancing room etc. ..

My Daughter is in toddler's group at American Excelsior.. and is doing fantastic there. they provide all round development to the child and lot of activities keep on happening there. The director-Ms Shalini is an excellent person with great love and compassion for children. Their philosophy is to Let the Child Be and they provide nice environment for that.. They have horse riding, splash pool and children enjoy as well as learn. even my 2 1/2 yr old has started speaking in english... i love that....You must visit that school...

sorry i saw your message today only. I was out of town so logged on after a long time..
the fees structure is around 1.5 lakh a year. they are focussed on all over development of children. this fees i am talking nursery onwards. they follow 1: 10 teacher student ratio which is pretty impressive and focus totally on individualized attention. they let each child work on its own pace and there is no pressure. they follow cambridghe board which is acceptable globally.. and they also have a stall in the edufair which is taking place in epicentre. you cane visit them there and talk to them also. if you want to know anything else, you can let me know.... -

theres a schoolex exhibition going on today at sector 44, gurgaon, where all the schools have their representatives. go and visit , else you'll have to go to each school individually. also, last date for most schools is around 10-12 sept.i do hope yopu've got the forms.
