Dear All,
I strongly condemn the statement made by the Education Minister. He is just trying to mislead the parents and his own government at the same time. If the child starts at the age of 4, he would have to simply complete 1 year of education before he/she is promoted to Class I. So in effect a child starts education from Class I at the age of 5 which happens presently as well. The only difference it would make to schools is loss of earnings for 1 year which they make in the name of nursery or pre-school by admitting children at the age of 3. I would urge all the members to condemn this statement and send written letters in this regard to the Minister with a copy to the Chief Minister - Shiela Dixit and HRD Minister - Kapil Sibal. At the same time I would like to advise the Education Minister to concentrate on Transport Deptt as he holds that portfolio as well if he does not understand education and other deptt is also not doing very well.
In case any person needs any help with regards to admission for their child this year especially in North Delhi, the can contact me at narinder_6in@yahoo.com and I would be ready to provide all necessary help so parents can benefit in getting admissions otherwise these erring schools are of no help for anyone except money.
Thanks and Regards
CA Narinder Arora
Dear Narinderji
Thanks for your constant help to parent community and I concur with you !!
thanks Narinder ji for extending support to needy parents..
but i think what Mr.Lovely wanted to put forth was the RTE guideline which states that everywhere in the country a child must enter class 1 at age of 6...and as RTE is being implemented only in state of Delhi other states will be adhering to their prevailing different age criteria...so the ball is laready in court of Mr.Sibal to implement RTE pan India by having equal entry age (as per RTE 6 yrs at Class1) at the preschooling years too...all state governments should be taken in confidence by the centre HRD...till then it will be the same contentious issue...
further DOE did some hard work last year to come out with admissions guidelines...and this year under pvt.schools' lobby pressure they seem to be continuing with the same as hinted by the minister...again parents are at loss...
when pan India govt. boast of one board i.e CBSE..then why can't it force all affiliated schools to adhere to the same guidelines...why NCR other states have that different than NCT...Ganguly committee advice was pertinent at that point of time...but now in Delhi there are much more nos. of eligible Kids...and a very few so called good schools...so that creates the undue pressure on these tiny tots & their hapless parents and give a chance to play freely for the pvt. schools in name of mgmt.seats.....
...again we shall suggest the parents same usual way of applying to many nos. of schools, focussing more on the neighourhood schools to garner more points, be upright to fill and submit application forms in time.....and then just wait for the outcome.....it's not done....some fundamental change in the process is to be made...
is DOE/Govt/HRD ministry hearing??

Thanks Bij sir for throwing light and your constant support to forum ,
we thinkhaving a single male child we like a disadvantage for the parents as it creates the problem in getting addmission in the schools on the name of many clauses. also, i think being the single parent is an added advantage for both parents and kids. Is our education system is promoting the family value or single parenting.
yamini
I think these criteria are creating a divide in the society rather than helping anyone and doing nothing more than hurting the sentiments of people
hi mamta i m sorry if i hurt u but my intensions were not like that, i was just saying that being the single parent became an added advantage for the nursery addmission.
@ mamta
dont worry mamta.
A complex problem always has a simple solution to it.
Only thing required is to think out of the box and explore all possibilties !
Absolutely ridiculous....This is rubbish. It seems if I am in a happy married life..am still conventional and stay with my in laws and have nothing in my name(since they are my parents I dont really need a meter or phone in my name...!!) and if I have a boy child then there is no chance that I can get admission!! Narinder ji...would need your help surely!!
Kalpna
Sure - Lets work together now by forming a group through this forum and raise our concerns. It is high tiome before the Govt comes out with some odd guidelines as in the past. I am ready to do so. Need all your support
Thanks
