Nursery admission Update : Today on 21st of Decmeber 2011 a division bench of Delhi High court issued notice to the DOE and action comitee of Unaided Schools and fixed the case for final argument on 6th of januray 2011. Delhi High court passed a detailed order while issuing the notice while permited the school to go throught the DOE circuler dated 16.12.2011 but whether the pre school can be considered as entry level class or not will be subject to the final outcome of the case which will be decided on 6th of Januray 2011. we can state that the issue whether the students admitted in pre school will be upgraded to pre school or they will be admitted as a fresh admission will be decided on 6th of january itself. we suggest parents to purchase the form after 6th of january as it is most likely that the students of the age group of 3+ will not be promoted in next class and court will decide the matter on 6th as the friday is fixed for the matter for final argument instead of wednosday. the corut strongly refused for a long adjornment which the govenrment counsel was seeking.

Thnx sir...but do u think schools will accept that sinceit amounts to 1 year extra fees for playschools and 1 year fees lost by them...am sure managements of private schhols can easily bribe these people ...and their in lies the risk of shifting the age to 6+...thus the schools dont lose out not these advocates ...only children lose 1 year and parents 1 year of fees per child
Yes Rajeev - that is why schools are opposing it. Lets rise to do something good for the society by fighting against these schools. As I said my daughter has been admitted last year but am I full support of the parents this year as well so schools and education deptt. cannot have things their way at the cost of small children and their helpless parents.
Sir My daughter has turned 3 yrs on 11 th dec-2011 . she is going to play school in ashok vihar , delhi. Now will u pls help me out what should I do for the admissions now . I should wait for 6 jan-2012 verdict for purchasing the forms or not?. what will happen if the schools run out of forms by 7 th jan-2012 & then there will not be so much time remaining that I can go to many schools. ALso pls tell what is the difference between pre- primary & pre - school
PANKAJ
I would suggest after 6th January - Schools should provide forms until last date which is 15th January at present but may change after Court Verdict.
There is no difference between pre-primary and pre-school
Pre-School and Nursery are same class and admission age is 3+. Pre-Primary, Kg, Prep, UKG are same and admission age is 4+.
Pre-School and Nursery are same class and admission age is 3+. Pre-Primary, Kg, Prep, UKG are same and admission age is 4+.
Rajeev - No one is foolish - you would appreciate that my child is also 3+ and is going to school. She also would be promoted this year and I am not at all concerned. And moreover I did not pay 50000 to get her admission but got her admission by RTI and other legal methods. And you would be amazed that 10 other parents along with me also got admission for their child which none of us could have got due to the prevailing points system.
DONT U AGREEE MR ARORA THAT SINCE MOST MOTHERS ARE WORKIGN THESE DAYS...CHILDREN HOWEVER DELICATE OR TINY THEY ARE...HAVE TO GO OUT BY AGE 2+....SO ALLL THESE HASSLES AMOUNT TO NOTHING ...AS PARENTS ARE RELIEVED...THAT MORE TIME IS SPENT NOW IN SCHOOL THAN IN CRECHE...ATLEAST HE LEARNS SOME DISCIPLINE...AND THERE IS NO SYLLABUS PRESSURE ON 3+ AGED STUDENTS IN NURSERY AT ALL...MY SON NARRATES HIS DAY TO ME AS IF HE HAD A GR8 TIME IN SCHOOL......NO TENSIONS
Rajeev - I completely agree and to a large extent support your view. And the petition does not stop children from going to school at 2+ or 3+. It is just that the formal admission is done once the child attains 4+ Schools are allowed to run pre-schools and at 3+ also if you see the class in notifications it should be pre-school and most schools mention this word also. But we parents get confused by the word Nursery being used along with it. Pre-school as you would appreciate means before school so even today at 3+ they are not starting formal schooling and the Govt. has guidelines that children would not carry books at 3+. The fight is only that the formal admission should be at 4+ and if the parents are ready to send them to school before that and the school admits them there is no fight. But it is the option of the parent. At 4+ everyone gets an equal opportunity. If someone does not want to send their child before 4+ for whatever reason they cannot get admission in today's scenario. There are a vast majority of people who think that 3+ is too small age for children to go to school. And this is what precisely the Right to Education Act also states.
And to reiterate, your child does not get affected at all as this would apply from this year only - again subject to decision by the Hon'ble High Court. Lets wait for the decision. As far as I am concerned, I am neutral but more poised towards 4+ although I am the same case as you. My daughter is already going to formal school and would be promoted this year as she is 4+ now. The only thing I want to see is that the corrupt practices of the school and Govt. should be stopped. And I feel very bad to hear that you had to pay 50K out of your hard earned money.
Rajeevji
Please don't pour out your words by misunderstanding yourself. Speciality of this forum is no queries will be unanswered even though reply may be late. Mr.Ashok Aggarwal and Mr.Khagesh Jha have come out to fight for a social cause and to be specific for parents and students cause. Let me assure first that you are in safer side and your child even though got admitted by releasing your hard earned money out will be promoted to Pre-Primary automatically next year.
Both advocates are trying to settling the issues which the govt has not clear and which would benefit the parents. So we have to be broadminded and be grateful to them.
Now Jan 6th hearing is for children who get admitted this year. Whether those kids would be promoted directly to next class or fresh admissions will be done again in KG. And we would be confirmed which class is entry level whether nursery or Pre-Primary.
Dr.Ajay I would like to tell you that Mr.Ashok Aggarwal and Mr.Khagesh Jha are working for a social cause and that too for the cause of parents and students welfare apart from their own work. They both have appeared many cases for the same. I don't know if you have knowledge about RTE Act ot not but they both have made the rural people in Delhi to know about it and act upon it. We should be thankful to them. I want to say issue is not settled by the government in a correct manner and so they have to follow it again for the benefit of parents and students. They both are trying to settle the controversy. So we should appreciate their hard work and support them.
NO NOT AT ALL.....IF ONE HAS TO TAK FRESH ADMISSION TO KG AT AGE 4+...MEANS PAY MORE MONEY TO SCHOOLS...FOR ADMISSION...MEANS SOMEBODY IS GETTING A CUT FROM THAT MONEY....OTHERWISE WTS THE POINT IN NURSERY STUDENTS OF LAST YEAR NOT BEING ABLE TO GO TO KG STRAIGHTAWAY.....THERE ISNO LOGIC IN THIS...ALSO THERE OS NOT GREAT FUNDA IN CHILDREN NOT JOINING SHOOLS AT RIGHT AGE AS ANYWAYS THEY HAVE TO GO TO PLAYSCHOOLS....SO ITS THE QUESTION OF WHETHER ITS PLAY SCHOOL OR NURSERY AND THE SYLLABUS IS THE SAME ANYWAYS...IF I AM WRONG CORRECT ME MR KHAGESH /MR AGARWAL...REPLY TO MY COMMENT
