Nursery/kg/1st |COMMON ADMISSION THREAD FOR SCHOOLS DECLARING ADMISSIONS OPEN FOR DELHI SCHOOLS FOR YEAR 2012-2013

Parents are requested to not put generic queries but contribute with admission details if they are aware of any school. This would help parent community only and not break the continuity.

AS WE ARE DOING THIS FROM LAST 3-4 YRS WE WOULD BE FOLLOWING THE MAIN TREND, THE ADMISSIONS INFORMATION WOULD ALSO BE AVAILABLE ON THE DELHI ADMISSION OPEN GROUP ALSO, AS SOME TIMES PARENTS ARE NOT ABLE TO LOCATE THIS THREAD

THE LINK FOR ADMISSIONS OPEN IN DELHI 2012-2013 GROUP IS GIVEN BELOW

hows ramjas, anand parbat (other than day-boarding school). they have draw tomorrow

hi sakshi ..sovereign school rohini is asking for educational proof ?? why ?? they called me up and asked for it..plzztell what to do??

PlZ reply

Well, there is no why to this. The way it works, you better cough up the documents asked, else you know how many others are there in line. I would personally not recommend you jeopardizing your child's admission possibility. So, give the edu. proofs.

SIR THIS IS NOT THE QUESTION OF ONLY WHY??? BUT WHY MY DAUGHTER SHOULD NOT GET ADMISSION BCOS I M NOT ENOUGH QUALIFIED OR MY HUSBAND ,,,,

you are right Preeti but when schools are openly asking donations, flouting every law/directions openly, doing whatever they want..there seems to be no relief for us.

@Preeti Please do not get me wrong. I'm completely with you on this. While your question is totally valid and not rhetorical, it may take a while to get you any answers. Any recourse you choose to take isn't going to yield results over-night, if at all they are going to. There are plenty of schools which haven't asked for it. So my advice is to ignore such schools and concentrate on getting your princess her rightful place in a school.

If you think you are not enough qualified and chances are slim just file a complaint with The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) who is monitoring violation of RTE Act 2009.

5 Lakh Forms sold for 2 Lakh Nursery seats

gyanunlimited Bureau, New Delhi

The door of Nursery admission is not so easy in Delhi as for 1 seat about 60-70 students are competing. It shows how the fierce competition are? The nursery admission procedures are over and different Private Schools of Delhi received more than 5 Lakh Application forms for 2 Lakh Seats.
The first cut off of these students will be announced on first February, 2012. There will provisions for Second and Third lists too in many schools of the city

Forms received against No. of Seats in Delhi Schools

Name of the School Received Applications No. of seats

APJ Public School, Sanik Vihar 5291 99

APJ Public School, Pitampura 5194 99

DPS R.K. Puram 6000+ 198

Air Force Bal Bharti School, Lodi Road 2000+ 90

Mount Abu School, Rohini 1375 75

Springdales School, Dhaula kuan 6000 100

Springdales School, Pusa Road 6050 100

Bal Bharti Public School 3654 200

Mahavir Senior Model School 1000 100

DAV Public School, Mausam Vihar 4000+ 100

Second List

There are many schools which release second and third lists too. So, the parents may not be discouraged more for the first cut off list as number of parents have applied for 10 to 20 schools. However, there are many schools where distance and alumni will have added advantage.

Documents needed during Admission
■Original Birth Certificate
■Residential Proof
■Alumni Case
■Transfer Case
■Sibling I-Card
■Single Parents and First Child
■Special Child
■EWS Category

Finally some stats! So going by the statement that parent have applied in 10-20 schools, even if I take lower value of 10, that means on the average one candidate has applied in approx 10 schools. Dividing no. of forms by 10 gives us no of approx aspirants (about 50K). Still no of aspirant are one fourth of no of seats! what am I missing here?!

Several things missing in those stats. Do those 2 Lakh seats only include Private schools or Govt schools as well? Do the 5 Lakh applications include EWS as well or also General category? Even within General Category, what is the break up by sibling, alumni etc. I wouldn't expect a sibling/alumni candidate to apply in 10 schools. What about Management seats - are those also included in the 2 Lakh seats? These are guaranteed seats - so we're looking at 1.6 Lakhs seats only. Many ifs and buts to those numbers
