A letter from the Headmistress to parents of children seeking
admissions to pre-school classesDear Parents, January 2012
While we appreciate your anxiety in getting admissions for your children to good schools, we request you not to fall prey to ‘admission fever’ and remember the following points:
- Do not make your child feel that she is going to be ‘accepted’ or ‘rejected’. Do not make a big deal about the admission in anything you say in front of your child. Let them remain natural and relaxed.
- It is one of the unfortunate aspects of our system that there are more seekers of admission than there are good schools. This naturally leads to disappointment for many parents who are unable to get the school of their choice. However, I request you to understand that schools too have a limited number of seats and cannot accommodate every child. Please accept whatever result is finally announced gracefully. I hope that those disappointed here will find good options elsewhere.
- Do not transfer your disappointment regarding admission into your child’s failure. It is not his / her failure but the failure of a society where all parents are unable to get for their children the education they desire and deserve.
- This school does not accept any ‘speed money’ for admissions. Let no one convince you otherwise. In case any person should try to ‘sell’ an admission to you in this way, I request you to get in touch with me.

Haha.....Sounds good.....Seems to be so concerned citizen.....Has anyone taken a look at the point system of her own school (Cambridge NFC). Please take a look and then read this letter again..............All fake words......The most discriminating and irrelevant point system....

I dont find anything superficial with their point system?!
I really liked her concern for children esp these two points:

A child seeking admission into the school must have completed 4 years of age for Pre-primary class and 6 years for class 1st as on 31st March. An attested photo copy of the birth certificate from MCD must be furnished.
2. For registration the parents/guardians should obtain the prospectus and registration form. Registration form should be submitted to the office along with registration fee.
3. Criteria fixed by Govt/Management from time to time for admission will be followed.
4. The parents will be required to deposit the fees within 3 days of the issue of admission orders failing which it will be treated as vacant and allotted to another candidate.

ADMISSION POLICY FOR PRE-SCHOOL, SESSION 2012-2013
The total No. of seats available in PreSchool is 140 for which admissions shall be made. 25% of total seats are reserved for the candidates belonging to Economically Weaker Section and disadvantaged groups of the society. Thus there are 75% of total seats available for admission to the general category candidates in Pre-School. Provisions of RTE Act and the directions of Directorate of Education shall be followed in case of other classes.
Age of the candidate should be 3 plus as on 31-03-2012 for Pre – School.

The admission criteria are subject to the provisions of RTE Act and directions of Directorate of Education issued from time to time. LIST OF SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS TO BE PRODUCED :
(i) Birth Certificate issued by Municipal Corporation of Delhi.
(ii) Identity Proof & Residential address Proof : (Election Card/ Passport/ Electricity Bill/ Driving License/ PAN Card/ Ration Card/ Water Bill/ lease deed made six months prior to the submission of the application form along with an affidavit on stamp paper should be submitted in case of rental accommodation )
(iii) Category Certificate in case of belonging to SC/ST/OBC and Certificate from competent authority in case of children with special need - Disadvantaged group
(iv) In case of sibling applicants: the identity card/ admission order/ latest fee bill of the sibling.
(v) Income Certificate from the competent authority in case of students from Economically Weaker section of the society. (Original must be submitted at the time of admission) and proof of staying in Delhi for the last three years. .
(vi) Single Parents to provide proof of their single status.
(vii) There shall be no testing and interviews for any child/parent falling within or outside the categories, and selection would be on a random basis.
(viii) If the information provided is found to be incorrect or false, the applicant shall be automatically debarred from selection process without any correspondence in this regard.
Note : Photocopies of the supporting documents must be submitted with the registration form.

Withdrawal From School
Written notice of one calendar month must be given to withdraw a student from the school or a month’s fee will be charged in lieu of notice. Security money will have to be claimed within one month of the withdrawal of the child from the school otherwise it will be forfeited.
