@Banani, Priyanka, Puneet: The current admissions criteria bar admissions of quota less children in the so called elite schools. Sumit has repeatedly advised parents to apply in the not so established schools as well. You need to realize it is the students that make up a school. If other schools have not been able to make a name for themselves so far, it could also be due to a lack of enthusiasm from the middle class educated parents. If the current trends continue, these so called mediocre schools will make a name due to the intake of wards of parents like you. Please visit the "mediocre" schools and if you find their faculty and infrastructure upto scratch take up their offer. Don't run behind name and brand only - after all these new schools require to make a name for themselves. They would be very conscious about the performance of their students going forward

well said Anand. Its a typical middle class syndrome of running after brands.

ya . I m also thinking similarly. Today we talked with her play school's headmistress and enquired if we could continue our daughter's education for one more year in their school i.e. SHEMROCK Joyland. Since we are quite happy and satisfactory with the play school, we feel that it would be better to continue one more year there and then try for Nursery ( 4+ ) next year. In extreme case , we are thinking to join Kendriya Vidyalaya at Class -1 .  I feel it would be a total madness to send our 3 years daughter to a school far away 10 km + at this age.

Before taking any decision just keep in mind, admission in KG in schools that starts from Nursery onwards i.e. 3+ will depend on number of vacant seats. PLUS this year there have been cases where some schools have rejected the application of 4+ kids in Nursery.

Still if you want to take such route, apply to schools that starts from 4+ like AFGJ, TAFS, Loreto convent etc for maximum chances of getting admission.

@Dutta: As parents you are in the best position to decide what is good for your kids. However, my personal advice would be to consider even mediocre schools in your neighborhood. Admissions at 4+ in KG is subject to availability of seats - very few schools would have a vacancy. Most schools do not consider children aged 4+ for their Nursery classes

Hi Banani ji,

any above average school will be a better choice than continuing your kid in Mother's Pride..
