urgently need ur advise. I had already got my son's admission done in Apeejay Saket and now got a call from Apeejay shiek sarai. Pls advise which one is better and if it is worth switching over to shiek sarai now....

@ Ekta  As per parents feedback APJ ss> APJ saket ( APJ ss is oldest among them) but not much of a difference. Its ur call now.

Thanx for ur quick reponse....but as i have heard ss is better equipped and a bigger school...

Yes most parents opts for APJss  in case they get selected in both.

Hi Sumitji / Sakshiji / Lathaji,

I want to share with you my experience during this whole process of "Admission to Nursery" journery, which is still continuing for me.

I applied in 13 schools (in Janak Puri, Vikas Puri & Dwarka):

1. DPS, Dwarka

2. Bal Bharti Public School, Dwarka

3. N.K. Bagrodia Public School, Dwarka

4. Modern Convent School, Dwarka

5. Maxfort, Dwarka,

6. Vishwa Bharti Public School, Dwarka

7. Mount Carmel, Dwarka

8. Dwarka International School, Dwarka

9. Vandana International School, Dwarka

10. St. Francis, Janak Puri

11. Mira Model School, Janak Puri

12. VV Dav public school, Vikas Puri

13. Adarsh Public School, Vikas Puri (Alumni)

I chose the mixed bag with some very good to good and average schools.

But the catch here is that my Son has not been able to make it to any of the schools so far. The reason which I assume (and pretty confident) is that I am living in Uttam Nagar (not a good place like Dwarka, Janak Puri or Vikas Puri). Though the distance of all these schools is within 1-5 kms from my place but still no luck and I know people who are living in very far areas but still getting admission in good schools. I am confirming this because I visited many schools and met their representatives who are openly saying that they don't want to take children from such areas because those children will have a bad influence on other children. This is such a absurt logic and how can anybody discriminate on this basis.

I am a Software Engineer working with a MNC, my wife is a teacher in Govt. school and my whole family is well educated.

I have settled for a below average school now (i will not name it). I will definitely keep trying for the sake of my son's good education and know that in coming years I will make it happen by any means (you know them all) for admission which I didn't try this year.

I know nothing will happen by writing this here but I wanted to vent out my frustration at a forum which I am following from last 5 months. i have spent hours every day reading each & every comment on every thread.

Sumitji / Sakshiji / Lathaaji, please do share your valuable thoughts on this discrimination happening and thanks for doing great work for parent community.

Mr.Nishant

There are more than 55 schools in Dwarka. As you were seeking admission for your son you should have applied for more schools. More than 7 schools you have applied had very slim chances to get admission for your son. You should have applied in many other schools in Dwarka. You can still try in Vandana and Dwarka International once more. Anyway you are partially right Modern Convent is a school in your list which was branded by ignorant parents as not a school since many students studying there are from Uttam Nagar area even the education standard is high. And now according to RTE Act 25% seats are alloted to EWS all schools should have admitted students from all social classes. How can a school representative say like that? Did you checkout if that school has allotted EWS seats are not? Don't worry even a below average school can be a best school because of your kid's talent. You can still try in Dwarka schools once more.

@Nishant i  second Lathaaji  and i agree that schools might have done discrimination but DPS and Bal Bharti define the name of Localities which are covered under vicinity points, was your locality not covered and if not just measure how far it is from your home through Goggle Maps.

My location was defined in the online applications of both the schools, Bal Bharti as well as DPS. The google maps shows distance from Bal Bharti as 4.7 kms and from DPS as 3.9 kms.

Were you called for draw of lots in BB ? How many points you had in DPS.

I got to know about the BB draw through this forum and attended it as well but my son's name did not came out in draw results. For DPS, I don't remember the points scored now. Anyways, there were hardly any chances in DPS as larger chunk of pie was eaten by Alumni & Siblings.

@Nishant,that was  my point .In these two school you got fair chance as not all school do discrimination and yes most of new and small time do  mark negative areas.

Please guide between Presidium AV and Balbharti Rohini.

The student teacher ratio in presidium is very good.  Also the infrastructure.

But general public logic goes for BBPS.

What do you recommend?
