Flawed Point System for Nursery Admission in Delhi

I am one of the parents who could not get my girl child admitted in any school in Delhi due to the flawed point system prepared by the our LEARNED Minister - Mr. Lovely. He obviously does not know a thing about education so definitely he has copied the concept from somewhere but he is not good at copying also.

You would be surprised to know that the school which is in front of my house has given me 30 points out of 100, how can somebody get admission for their children without submitting false certificates.

I have written to the Chief Minister of Delhi and soon would write to the Prime Minister of India that the brainless ministers must be removed from the ministry.

Naresh i agree that corruption is at its peak and schools are not answerable to anyone.

Schools are still co-operating but this minister does not have a brain at all. If you want to have a point system, maximum points should go to the neighbourhood and that is it. What, transfer has to do with the admission?

@Naresh, Actually govt has given free hand to school for making point system . would you believe that we got complaints that some schools which are considered very ethical  like Mother's Int gave admissions to only transfer case recently in class 2.

Transfer is being misused . Some schools are doing screening  in name of transfer

agree.. this point system has made admn more difficult.. actually tey should only do neighbourhoold and sibling points , no other point in admns. i saw heritage school having 73% of single parent on first list and goenka has more than 80% only girl child..

yes in st thomas dwarka  only 7-8 were boys and 400(or 300) plus were girls for nursery.

best part was one leading dwarka school gave points for 1st child also and sibling also to many kids.

What a mess!! Sakshi, how to take it up with the minister? Minister has no right to play with the us.

Admission nursery has done a great job for all the parents who apply for admissions for their wards but There are many parents like us who haven't been able to secure admissions and the aren't aware of this forum . We all need a platform to get in touch with them . There should be highlighted articles in daily newspapers , social networking sites like facebook and twitter could also be useful in spreading a message , so that these grievences can be heard , otherwise it clearly seem that the situation in the coming years the situation is gonna worsen in the time to come. If our education minister has allowed to raise the management quota then it is clear that next year the situation is going to be very bad next year , the point systems which is already unfair and schools are totally dictating their own terms will be doing the same next year and I think that we should get. In touch with the parents who are going to apply for next year nursery admissions too
I as a parent was extremely dissapointed. And agonised when I wasn't able to secure a seat for my child , I am still visiting various schools just to check weather their are any vacancies but I am. Receiving negative response . Also I am worried what is going to happen next year when I apply for kg admissions .

Hi Tanmeet, let us get together and go to Supreme court challenging the very premise of this point system, more so the transfer cases. Why?

I am already in touch with a lawyer on this.

@Naresh.... I agree with you completely but I don’t think that Dear Lovely Ji has done so because he does not have brain; In fact he did this on purpose so that schools will have their own criteria. Design of points is not fare, illogical, stupid and not homogeneous for all schools that leave thousands of loopholes. Of course he must have been paid well for this favor. This could be one of the biggest scam after CWG, but who is going to probe it? All the best for writing to PM and CM. BTW when the last time you heard Mr. PM taking action against any scam? And I am very much sure that Majesty CM herself well aware and part of this goof up. I have accepted these facts heavy heartedly that nothing can be done. The big picture is that corruption is the root cause of 99% problems of common man, including school admissions. I do not want to discourage you but if you want to raise your voice please do so and keep us posted. Together we may pull some strings. You have my support.

Thanks Manu, your analysis is perfect. I am sure we will definitely get some help. This time the suffering community is very big and spans all. I will be using facebook also to mobilize people against this scam as you rightly point out.

though due to these points process, our children have suffered, but some children do have got admns too. Lets not forget schools seats are full as no of children are more than the seats and schools in delhi. SO delhi gvt has to look into this seriously.. this will repeat next yr and so on.. not many people can afford donation of 1Lacs  !....
