Nursery Admissions in Delhi NCR 2026-27

Form Dates | Admission Criteria | Results | Fee Details | List of All Schools

I would like your comments on this issues. In Europe and America, kids are not allowed to go for study before 3.5 years but in India all it starts at 2 years. It is wise  to send such a tender child to school when child could not develop sufficient immune system. I abstained from sending my child from play school for various reasons including cost also which is not necessary.  I have come to know that at the time of admission in nursery, schools counts on play school points.  Do all the schools play school points criteria. My baby is exceptionally talented and she is grooming well at home in the company of her mother who is house wife.

Kindly suggest me whether I have taken a good decision for not sending my baby to play school.

I am sure you are talking about a 2 year old

No schools come with a tag of good or bad.

Its like visiting a doctor. 1 likes him and the 2nd one had a bad exp with the same doctor.

At last its about learning. 1 advantage that I see is that the child learns to get social. But I will blame the parents who cannot help their child get independent.

FYI, no regular school even asks whether ur child has gone to any play school.

I'm sorry, it's not the same as visiting a doctor. THere are good schools and bad schools. Even incase of DPS, not every DPS in India is good....everyone knows that.

It is like visiting a doctor. One likes, other one hates.

DPS - multiple people, multiple view. One would hate, others would love :)

Nope, DPS RK puram is in top ten in India (TOI survey) doesn't make DPS Faridabad the same :-)....doesn't even make DPS Vasant Kunj the same....

But ultimately Umesh, you gave the right answer... multiple people, multiple views!! Same goes incase of playschools. You don't like playschools...I do because my child benefitted and got a seat in a good school through interaction where he was very confident. I'm sure he wouldn't have done the same if I had kept him at home...he met strangers there...to whom he replied...not to his own family..that's the benefit of me sending him to  agood playschool. Otherwise, thanks to RTE act, my son couldn't even get admission in any of the 27 schools I applied. So, I'm all for playschools.

May be you are of that era when schools used to take interviews. I am a new bee, my child got selected this year. She also goes to one of the most known schools and just FYI, they didn't even bother abt the pay school.

I am trying to make a point that incase parents cannot spare time, play schools might prove good. But incase you can, play schools are really not worth it.

My son opened up and blossomed after going to a playschool. He became more outgoing and confident......thanx to 'Saksham'

I agree... franchises of these Play School chains are just rubbish... they pay the teachers a pittance so no one works there happily.... that way stand alone schools are better where you know who the owner is.

Sakshi: Why don't you do 1 thing, add different play schools page, the sub category should be location of those schools and let parents give their feedback

This would also help parents, who plan to send their child to play school, decide which school is good

Nidhi, nobody here is debating about the Good or Bad pre/play school, the debate is whether to send the toddlers to these palces or not.

Thank god, u agreed somewhere !!!

:)
