Based on RTE guidelines a child must be 5 years old on 31st March in the academic year in which admission is being sought for admission to class I and for admission to class II the age must be 6 years and these guidelines are followed in Delhi.

According to Haryana Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Rules, 2011 has come into force since 3^rdJune 2011.

Appropriate age for admission:

Appropriate Age for admission in Class One shall be : five years to six years;

for Class Two : six years to seven years;

for Class Three : seven years to eight years;

for Class Four: eight years to nine years;

for Class Five : nine years to ten years;

for Class Six : ten years to eleven years;

for Class Seven : eleven years to twelve years;

for Class Eight : twelve years to thirteen years;

DPS Sushant Lok - Last date for first batch of forms was Aug 14th, forms will be again available from Aug 20th. Also they have shifted to Point System from lottery for 2013-14

Hi Sakshi - They didn't provide details on this topic, but some of the criterion they mentioned are neighborhood, siblings etc..As i understand, its under review and not finalized yet.
