Haryana Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Rules, 2011 has come into force since 3rd June 2011.

Appropriate age for admission:

Appropriate Age for admission in Class One  shall be : five years to six years;

for Class Two : six years to seven years;

for Class Three : seven years to eight years;

for Class Four: eight years to nine years;

for Class Five : nine years to ten years;

for Class Six : ten years to eleven years;

for Class Seven : eleven years to twelve years;

for Class Eight : twelve years to thirteen years;

So for appropriate age for nursery would be 3 to 4 years and for Pre-Primary 4 to 5 years.

So mostly all schools are violating RTE guidelines.

Appropriate Govt. should take needful action.

I totally agree with you Lathaa. What is more pathetic is that government does not seem to bother about this serious issue. I wonder how the schools can flout norms which have been set up by government. Due to discrepancy in age criteria, many parents like me are unable to fill up forms for schools like:- DPS, VBPS, Cambridge...

Its so true. There should be a uniform age criteria for admissions in nursery. We are at our wits end trying to figure out for which school's are child is eligible and which not. I totally agree with Lathaa.

@ Sakshi, is it advisable to get my kid admitted to new schools like DPS expressway and somerville 132? I am a bit doubtful.

visit both the schools as parents informed us dps 132 primary section is complete and fully operational (started last year) somerville as per newspaper you can vist after 10 sep (i think it will be 1st batch)

i think general interaction ,nothing to be prepared but you can search on box on extreme  top right  of forum
