Delhi nursery admissions to begin in January

Schools in the NCR are already winding up their nursery admission proces s, but it seems schools in Delhi will have to wait a little longer. The directorate of education (DoE) has said Delhi schools will start the process only in January. Parents have already started doing rounds of schools with anxiety building up for the annual admission process. Many have taken up seats in the NCR schools just to be secure before admissions in Delhi begin. DoE officials said all schools will follow a uniform schedule for admission to nursery in the academic session of 2013-14. " The nursery admission schedule over last few years has proved to be quite comfortable for parents. So we will most probably begin the process for the next session from January 1," a senior DoE official said . He also assured that the parameters adopted by every recognised private unaided school will be first approved by the government. According to DoE officials, there are nearly one lakh nursery seats across 1,200 private unaided schools in the city. " Many schools in Noida, Ghaziabad and Gurgaon are already through with their admission process but we do not want to start the process as of now. As the admissions are for next year, starting early will only make the process long," the official added.

Hi Sakshi & Sumit ji,

My daughter is born 4th Aug 2009. Is she eligible for nursery or KG? We are sending her to a nearby playschool/nursery school where she is learning quite a lot. So, should I seek admission for nursery or KG in January? Am residing in Vasant Kunj.

@Sudipa, The child has to be min 3 yrs for nursery and 4 yrs for Kg on  31 mar 2013.your daughter is eligible for nursery for 2013-2014.

very good feedback of  Ahlcon Int, Ahlcon Public, Somerville ,Salwan and rest you will find parents in the same boat

Does this information applies to pre-school admissions as well?

 Pre-School = Nursery. So admission process applies for pre-school too.

Lathaaji, Pradeep might be confusing with play schools . Pradeep what is DOB of your ward?
