pls share your views how many points should be given to distance (max-min) and sibling plus rest of cat.

I think that is a gud move distance should be given the max points ... Minimum points should be given for transfer and alumini

Yes  Tanmeet Mr Vohra wants alumni to be totally Removed .

Distance should be given atleast 40% point

Distance should be given atleast 60-70% point, this will promote the neighbour concept and children don't have to travel hours or so to reach schools. Last year my son didn't get a seat even we been living as close as 300 mtrs from 2-3 schools in south Delhi, distance was the only point what he scored and it wan't good enough.

60%

can this idea work:

First : Distance + Sibling

Second : For remaining seats Distance + First Child

Third : Open to others all

Vivek

Uneven distribution of schools in different localities are found in Delhi at present. More points to be given under neighbourhood concept, every school should identify clearly demarcated areas in the school’s neighbourhood and indicate them in the Registration Form according to the distance specifications with weightage points for each distance zone..Systematic and accurate school mapping of different educational zones of Delhi should be done. If there are no schools in limit of neighbourhood habitation then the nearest school should be considered neighbourhood schools.

For eg. Sarita vihar has less neighbourhood schools and Dwarka has more neighbourhood school but getting admission tough in both cases with neighbourhood points at present. Only Bal bharti School has clearly mentioned neighbourhood points sector wise and alloted points accordingly. Most schools in Dwarka five 2 set of points Points given for children under DWarka subcity and outer subcity. Most schools cover whole of the west Delhi Schools. Hence accurate mapping should be found out for neighbourhood schools. HC has already directed distance wise for EWS admission process. Alumni points should be removed and sibling points should be reduced and some points for mode of transport should be given as Mr.Vohra suggested for safe transport.

Yes Lathaaji many parents don't have schools nearby their home.

@Yatika , In Ncr after many complaints no action was taken and 99% of the schools conducts interviews which are againts RTE.

@ Yatika

Respective state govts. has not issued any guidelines to follow to schools regarding screening procedure during admission.

Thanks a ton Sumit sir for raising the most important criterion of neighbourhood in the 100 points system for Nursery admissions in NCT Delhi schools. I suggest following criteria can be applied:
(i) Neighbourhood (Any one proof of residential address; Ration Card/Electoral Identity Card /Valid Passport / Latest Paid Electricity or Telephone Bill /Property Tax paid receipt/ Registered Lease Deed in case of rental accommodation. School can also verify the residential address through home visit.): A list of all localities in the catchment area of the school with points for each locality should be provided or
Distance from school by using established routes should be followed as:
0-3 Km=50 points, >3-8 Km=40 points, >8–13 Km=30points, >13–18 Km=20 points, Above 18 Km=00 points
(ii) Sibling (Identity Card / Latest Fee Bill of the sibling issued by the school office for 2012-13): 25 points
(iii) Transfer Cases (Transfer to Delhi from other states excluding NCR after 1st April 2012) (Transfer Order/ Release Letter and Joining Letter from a competent authority in support of transfer/ posting):10 points
(iv) Girl child/ first born boy child (Affidavit with regard to first born child): 5 points
(v) Single Parent (Valid legal proof of his / her single status (death certificate and
Undertaking of single status)): 5 points
(vi) School Alumni (a copy of the passing certificate of AISSCE (Class X / XII) issued by CBSE): 5 Points

All the Best!

Bij:)
