Form Dates | Admission Criteria | Results | Fee Details | List of All Schools
Dear Parents
The schools have been given full autonomy for admission criteria /point system
But parents should know
1- If you see point no 2..it says First List and Waiting list will come by 15 Feb- This does not mean all schools will come with their 1st list on 15 Feb but schools can come early also with 1st list in last week of JAN 2013 or 1st/2nd week of FEB but last date of displaying 1st list list+waiting list is 15 Feb .
2 Till last year schools had option to deviate from Common Admission Calendar but as mentioned in point no 3... All the schools have to give forms from 1Jan-15 Jan 2013... As last year many established and sought after schools gave forms only for few days .
3 Please see point no 8 - As we all know schools have to give 25 % quota to EWS . As per notification dated 28.02.2012 entry level seats (Nursery, KG, 1st) cannot be less than highest number of seats in previous 3 years in entry level classes . Normally to reduce EWS seats...many schools used to decrease the number of seats at entry level and (Read Nursery /KG) then used to fill the seats in senior classes but now they cannot do it ..as DOE has asked for the stats from all the schools few months ago. So THIS YEAR THIS MANIPULATION BY REDUCTION OF ENTRY LEVEL SEATS (TOTAL SEATS-GEN+EWS) CANNOT BE DONE BY SCHOOLS (ON PAPER AT LEAST)
REST THESE GUIDELINES ARE IN FAVOUR OF SCHOOLS :(

@Surya, there can never be a good answer to your questions in first para. What you will get is a tentative list of documents based on what happened last year. This year what schools will ask, you never know. No document will be hard to get for sure. So don't sweat. What documents are required, is something specific to a school and you will have plenty of time with you. No need to panic. If you looking for perfect preparation, you are chasing a mirage. You will need to be ready and nimble on you feet. And its easy. That said, you will find a tentative list of documents that are usually asked.
You can have someone else fill forms on your behalf, but think about it. Would you rather trust someone one else, least of which an agent? Its your own kid after all.
My personal experience regarding waiting has been, grab forms of not so sought after school in first couple of days. You'd be surprised how the rush ebbs in the meanwhile in sought after schools. People are in a hurry which isnt needed actually. But again, take your own decision.
Every school hasa different form which you would need to go and procure. Of course there are some schools that have online forms. Last year I observed schools plainly refusing to give forms unless you bought them with prospectus. Actually they are attached within prospectus. Sotheres only as much you can do about it.
A blog is a good idea and I would like to believe there have been a few written, but the problem with these things is, its all so dynamic that an article/blog goes out of date very soon. So the fine points, you should always look out for.
thanks jaspreet for such a nice and elaborate answer...
Based on what different schools ask, please find below some documents which u can arrange early, but for few u need to wait till u get school forms(since they are school specific)-
i) Age - Child Birth Certificate (make sure correct name is entered in the Birth Certificate, if not get it done now- should be able to get it done before the start of admission process). |
ii) Address - DL, Passport and Election ID are generally accepted.. (probably this year they might also accept aadhar i cards) Apart from the above School specifies in the form exactly what all will be accepted out of Registered Lease Deed/Electricity Bill/MTNL Telephone Bill etc. |
iii) Transfer Case – Recent transfer letter from organization if recently transferred to Delhi from outside / Proof of employment(specifically saying job is transferable) / office ID Card. |
iv) Alumini – School Leaving Certificate / Board Certificate. |
v) Sibling – Fee Slip/ID card/Admission order of sibling. |
vi) Specific Docs - And sometimes specific documents required like affidavits, medical certificate of child, vaccination record duly certified by doctor, educational qualification of parents, proof of playschool-preschool attended, certificate of disability (for special needs) etc. |
Also, keep family tree handy (Parent's/Grandfather’s/ name, birth date, educational qualifications, some special achievements, if any). |
Useful to keep multiple copy of the documents attested by 1st class Gazette Officer in advance to avoid last minute rush. Sometimes specific attestation (like 1st class magistrate etc.) is also required which u can get later. For EWS/disadvantaged category, the EWS form specifically mention the documents required. vii) Photographs (kid's and parent's) - every form ask for 2 or 3 photos, so you can keep it ready now also... You can start readying ur Bag. :-) All the best. |
@Shival, thanks for the kind words. I'm wondering Surya has a very good point. Do we have this document list at a central place somewhere? If not, can we? If yes, we may perhaps just share that link than having to put this list under various different responses.
@Jaspreet, Just check it next to home /profile tab and very prominent on top with all the docs and affidavits under single link.
@Sakshi! Sure I can spot it now. Well, if almost everyone asks about it in every other question, I guess it needs to be more prominent than it is. :)
Jaspreet , Can you suggest more prominent place, actually new parents are in panic mode so if they spend 5 min , u need to press home or profile button . How can anyone miss it but here i don't think any more prominent place maximum i can put in top of blog but again that have to be shifted up daily.
Ok tell me most of parents ask for 450 school list when its again next to it and also on center text box on top of home page. because every one wants easy solution at stressed out moment.
@Sakshi, yep good points there. Heck even I did not notice it at first glance. Valid point regarding school list too. Almost everyone asks for it.
May be we can look to increase the font size of those links on the top. May be the links get lost in the din at the top of the page. I mean even I don't have good answers :)
Tab size is fixed and regarding 450 on center top box on home page i removed big header today only as new points are expected ( below 50k line i had mention click below to see 450 excel list in very big blue font )
SEE THE BREAKING NEWS :) AND GIVE YOUR TAKE ON FILM INDUSTRY PARALLEL DRAWN BY MR VOHRA :)
Birth Certificate of my daughter was made within 15 days after her birth so her name was not yet decided at that time so its written DAUGHTER OF SURYA HANDA & MANISHA HANDA.
Is it necessary to have it changed to the name of the daughter ?
SECOND QUESTION:-
Is it necessary to give business details or employment certificate if employed ?
Please tell from your real experience with all this.
Thanks
Surya ,Some school ask ,so better get the name printed you still have time
2As per RTE schools cannot ask but some schools ask and after admission they might ask for records purpose.
Child's name is essential in birth Cettificate. Inclusion of name of the child can be done at Citizen Service Bureau located in each zone(Municipal or corporation). Late fee is chargeable after one year. Fill up the form is capital letters in CSB and submit to sub-registrar and deposit the fees.I think sometimes they ask for affidavit and a person will sit near by who will issue affidavit if any. It will take 15 days for issue of certificate.
No employment details are not needed unless it is transfer case.
Can I have the school list with all the details. Thnx
