Times of India Jan 3-Notices served to schools not following prescribed admission schedule

NEW DELHI: Some schools, including Loreto Convent School and Mount St. Mary's School, that were not following the schedule fixed by the guidelines will now have to do so after being served notices by the Directorate of Education. These schools, say DOE officials, were issuing forms for different categories of applicants on different days but will now be selling forms for all categories till January 15.

"We asked them to increase the number of days as their schedule was in contravention to the one prescribed by the guidelines. The district level offices served them notices and these two schools have written back to us saying they will comply," says director, education, Amit Singla.

Loreto Convent in Delhi Cantonment had reserved January 4 and 5 for defence personnel, January 5 for cantonment residents, January 7 for those belongs to the categories of Christians, siblings or alumnae and only January 8 for general category. But now their schedule adds, "Please note that the dates are given for the convenience of parents.

However, registration forms are available till 11:00 am, 15th January 2013 for all the categories." Mount St. Mary's, also located in the cantonment, had a similar schedule; they started on January 2.

The school's page on admissions says, "Registration Forms will be given to all from 1st January to 15th January, 2013. However, for the convenience of specific categories, forms may be collected according to the following schedule." And the date-sheet ends with "Please note: Parents are advised to follow the above schedule." Parents and Sumit Vohra of admissionsnursery.com had protested against the schedules and also that of Fr. Peter Mermier Pre-School which was issuing forms only for four days - January 2-5. Thye, however, are yet to make any changes to the admission notice posted online.

The Directorate fixed the schedule this year to prevent exactly this - the narrow window period for form collection and submission. The guidelines state categorically, "No deviation from the above schedule will be permitted."

Credit entirely goes to Mr.Vohra who stressed DOE to take action for restricted window period which is against DOE admission guidelines for last few years. So it's a example how minority institutions should comply to DOE guidelines.

Is there any action being taken against the schools like St. Marks Kindergarten who say that there admission process has already closed in November?

MAXFORT ROHINI IS FLOUTING RULES

Its selling forms at 350/- & misbehaved with us when we very politely asked for Rs.25 form.

I called CM's Office & also DOE/MOE Phone number but not able to connect.

Can you take the matter of MAXFORT to the appropriate authorities.

BBPS ROHINI, MOUNTABU ROHINI BBPS PITAMPURA is asking Rs.100 Draft.

How can they ask more than Rs.25/-

Isn't this called begging or acting like a goon aginst the GOVT Guidelines ?

BBPS PITAMPURA's ONLINE FORM FILLING HAS A GREAT FOOLING TACTIC FOR DOE GUIDELINES.

You fill the form but if the DOB filled by you is more than 3.5 years by even 1 day then its NOT ACCEPTING & shows a message that the child should be born between 01/04/2009 & 31/03/2010

BUT IT DOES NOT ACCEPT THE DATE OF 30 SEPTEMBER 2009 OR EARLIER & ACCEPTS THE DATE OF 1 APRIL 2009 & LATER.

SURPRISINGLY IT ACCEPTS THE DATE TILL 30TH SEPTEMBER 2010

How can they do this ?

ANYONE PLEASE COMPLAINT TO THE AUTHORITIES.

VENKATESHWARA GLOBAL SCHOOL IS SAYING THAT FORMS CAN BE SUBMITTED FROM 5TH JANUARY. Why all this stupid stuff by some schools & NO ACTION BY DR. KIRAN WALIA OR CM SHEILA DIKSHIT. I am worried about other parents. Only due to this I am posting this so that other parents should NOT face this problem which I faced.

PLEASE COMPLAINT THE RESPECTIVE AUTHORITIES TO SAVE THE TIME & ENERGY & ALSO THE MONEY OF OTHER PARENTS.

Mr. VOHRA Ji, DO SOMETHING IMMEDIATELY FOR THESE SCHOOLS.

Hello Mr. Vohra,

There are some more school's flouting norms:

1. Bal Bharati Public School- Asking to deposit a DD or Chq of Rs. 150/- instead of Rs. 25/- fixed by DOE.

2. Faith Academy selling admission form @ Rs. 200/- not at Rs. 25/-. On the name of prospectus (which is useless) they are giving one cardboard with some pictures of the school.

How can they do all this & DOE keeps Quite on these matters.

Hope AN.COM will raise this to appropriate authorities.

MAXFORT Pushpanjali Pitampura Branch is clearly arguing with the parents.

After complaining about MAXFORT ROHINI -24 in the early morning on this forum, I went to MAXFORT Pushpanjali Pitampura & they told that "HUM TO 350 MEIN HI BECHENGE, LENA HAI TO LO NAHI TO CHALO YAHAN SE"

tHEY ALSO HAD A TOUGH TIME AS I CREATED A LOT OF SCENE THERE & GAVE THEM A TOUGH TIME.

But in the end I had to go to other schools due to busy schedule & little timings in our hand.

PLEASE COMPLAINT FOR MAXFORT ROHINI & ESPECILAYY MAXFORT PITAMPURA.

Mr. Vohra if you are listening then please make the Education Minister & CM have a tough stand on this.

MOUNT ABU is asking for 100/- Prospectus.

DAV Pushpanjali is asking for 225/- Draft

DAV Pitampura is asking for 350/- Draft

PLEASE MR. VOHRA, Take this matter immediately to Dr. KIRAN WALIA (HOnorable Edu. Min) & this must be corrected immediately so we can fill in this schools also.

Pushpanjali Pitampura is asking for Income of Parents.

RICHMOND Paschim Vihar is asking for a long(est) list of interview questions from parents via its long & laborious form. Its also asking for Income of the parents.

VSPK Sec-13 Rohini is charging 500/- for prospectus. If you dont pay then they will make you sit for 10 minutes in the open cold chilled air, After 10 min , one man named SAGAR will come & take you inside. This man will make you sit in reception & then give a signal to 50 Year Old COUNSELLOR sitting inside room. She will call you & check your Qualification & Status on Pre-filled form by the name of INTRODUCTION FORM. Then she will sell you form for 100/- which should be 25/- (Extra 75/- is charged for a plain paper bag worth 2/- only.), Then she will say you that , WE WILL GIVE YOU DISCOUNTS SO COME TO US AS SOON AS WE CALL YOU. They are playing pity poor songs which depicts their standard.

One Lady near the Entry point was scolding a poor man to get his child's books ready by some date else she wont let her / him sit inside his class. That madam was around 42 to 46 years old. ITS NAUSEA TYPE ENVIRONMENT.
