For Poonam Rathore, the nightmare has just begun. Even though the Education Department’s announcement on October 28 that all schools across the Capital will have to follow a fixed schedule for nursery admissions starting from December 15 did bring relief, she soon found a few schools have already started registrations.

In clear violation of the Directorate of Education (DoE) order, many schools have set their own timetable for nursery admissions.

“When the Directorate gave the order, I relaxed a bit, but then my friends told me a few schools have started online registrations,” said Rathore. “I did not want to miss out.”

Bhatnagar International Foundation School, Vasant Kunj, starting its first nursery session, is one of them. The school website says the registration process is on. Parents are being asked to fill up information forms. They claim the school has started interaction with parents. Devender Khemani, who visited the school for his son’s admission, said, “I did fill up the information form, which was like a registration form. The school said that they would call me.”

Khemani claimed the school asked him to pay Rs 55,000 to ‘reserve’ the seat. “They told me that if I paid, my son’s seat would be confirmed.” He would be considered a “fresh case” after December 15, if he failed to make the payment, the school reportedly told him.

u>“It is a gimmick used by schools. These schools know they won’t get many applicants after December 15,” said Sumit Vohra of admissionsnursery.com. School authorities, when contacted, said, “We haven’t started registrations process. They will start only from December 15, but you can fill up the registration form and then the school will call you

Rathore said, “I want my daughter to get admitted to a good school, but don’t know whether I should apply to schools now. We don’t even know whether or not the fees we deposit will be refunded later.”

After the DoE order on October 28, many schools like Convent of Jesus and Mary and St Columba’s postponed their admissions.

Several schools — New Era Junior School, Rajouri Garden, Presidium School, Kids Way at Pusa Road, Vivek Summit at East Patel Nagar — have already started the admission process or are about to start soon. Parents are left wondering whom to follow — the DoE or the schoolsOther schools, mostly around Dwarka, that have not stopped nursery admissions are — Nirmal Bharatiya School (started on November 1 after the DoE order was announced), MBS International School (September) and Shanti Gyan Niketan.

Director Education, P Krishnamurthy, said, “Nobody has filed a complaint. Somebody has to complain for us to take action. We’ve issued notices to schools that had started the admission process (three branches of Bal Bharati Public School that Newsline had reported).

He added that no new guidelines have been new issued to the schools. “Last year’s guidelines are being followed this year as well.”

In a country like india where we talked about free primary education to all, is that possible where the school made a heavy demands for the kids admition. These high demands are used to live a posh life by the management or invest in the construction of brand buildings only not for good education or a quality of education. What our govenment do is a issue to consideration? We should come on the road against the misuse of the hardend money and also suggest to the persons who give/spent the mony without any cause.
Does anyone have any idea if any of the schools in South Delhi have also started with the nursery admission process. Such a stpe by schools is causing great panic and is a big stress for parents.
Yes bhatnagar int in vasant kunj and its feeder branch convent of ranr jhansi in rk puram...no one else(dont panic )

How can the Green Field school can sell the forms? All the schools are in rush because they withhold the admission fee if someone gets the admission in other schools. This is the time for the schools to make money. l request all the parents to check up with the schools because whatever we talk or discuss nothing is going to happen.
saplings(Bhatnagar;Paschim Vihar) hav asked us to pay 42,000 demand draft for admission in nursery on 11th Nov,2009 after interaction held in school. My friend had already deposited the fees but I was little confused so I hav not deposit fees till now. When we asked them abt fee refund in case of withdrawl of my child 4m school; they said they will refund full fees only within one month.According 2 Doe guidelines, rest schools vil hav 1st list on 1st feb.Plz help me vat 2 do?

I can Protest Standing in my Breifs, and thats not a political statment sheena ji.And completely Nude too,but they will arrest me for behaving Obscene at a public place,so india is not the right country to do that.
and i m not joking, try to understand how serious i m,and how serious i expect all of you to be.....
Mr.Daga and you and few others, talk about unity?is it all about an online unity,we come here and write our griefs and sorrows,we shout at athuoroties here, and none among the authorities come here to read.
i shud remind all of u that time is moving Fast.Plan a physical protest, either in front of delhi secreteriate, jantar mantar, parliament etc.we r so many members.15th december is still away,we shud repeat our protests every weak, just mentioning of sumit vohra is not enough,Authorities till date must have had convinced themselves that this sumit vohra is one stupid born with a negative mind who always talk against government or schools.our government and media shud know the fact that this presumed mentally ill sumit vohra has an army of like minded people behind him,Which is increasing at a speed which is faster then the time they need to make a Decision on paper.......
they will only wake up when they see us on the streets, protesting with posters and slogans.
nobody concerned to the schools issues wud act just because one Mr. Sumit Vohra always have problems.
We parents needs to make our presence felt to the authorities.
we shud fix a day and time and reach the spot to protest with our physical presence.
on that protest day,we can write a complaint to DOE or any authorities,Be it RTI applications or Complaints or Suggestions, and every document shud have signatures of participating parents.
think about a complaint reaching DOE with 2000 signatures of parents with names and addresses......
will they still say they need a Complaint to Act?
We shud grow ourself in a team, with skills like vigilance department.
the moment we smell foul play, there shud be a complaint on the table of related authority, signed by as many people as possible.
i can assume responsibillity to personally drive to every member's home in north delhi area,to get their signatures on papers.i can do this for parents who for some reason can not come and join a physical protest.
I m sure rahul gulati wont mind to take charge of his area, and if few others also take the responsibility, its a matter of very short time to cover whole delhi and NCR.
tommorow is childeren's day
a very right day to protest for the rights of our children.Government wud celebrate this day by doing something, and we can spoil the party by gathering outside the venue.
i wonder why most of the people here only talk but do not act?
just because u r here for one more month, and then u will become part of the history of this web site?if your answer is YES,then u have no right to protest even here, you just come on the web site, read information published regarding admissions and have a good night sleep.
but if u r the one who feels worried, make sure to disturb days and nights of our decision making authorities.
Choice is your....

good mr deepak
many person like u and shaena rai views indicate that parents are now seriously thinking about taming these schools instead of agreeing to their nonsense demands. Is it not possible that selling of forms be made centralised online by the government which one can download by paying a nominal fee say Rs 5 or Rs 10 and then deposit it within the stipulated time printed on the form to the school of their choice alongwith the registration fee as prescribed by the school. This way i think 1.parents dont have to worry about the date of sale of forms 2. schools will also get registration fee while the form is deposited and they will not loose revenue 3. Government will have a strict control over the admission process as the point system will be printed in the form 4. An exact figure will also be obtained as how many children need admission in nursery every year and how much seats are avialable that will give them an idea about the gap between demand and supply.

Just a suggestion i dont know wether it will be practical to imply this.
its indeed practical to imply the suggestion ritesh ji,and this idea was in my mind too.if we can have a common form for university colleges admission then why cant we have such a form for a school.
but this idea is one among many which we all can suggest.but who will force our government to act on these ideas?
only us.......how?not by writing them here, its only possible by physical activities like protests, once we start protesting,we will get somebody to hear us,then we can put suggestions.
none among us has the power to make rules and regulations for schools, but we r full of creative ideas which we can serve to our government.
downloading forms from internet gives me an impression that it is another attempt to make our life more comfortable,i support a common admission form, but online can be good for some but i wont suggest to opt for it.
u atleast shud go and have a lookk at the school u r applying for.and collecting forms from a school cud be the reason for u to drive upto a school and see it,and if get a chance u can interact with children studying there.
online forms cud be good for people who cant go to school on a specific date.

It's really sad that parents become a victim of such a tug-o-war between schools n DOE. why can't the schools be ordered to follow a time tested formula like the DELHI UNIVERSITY for admissions ,where there are uniform dates for collection n submission of forms n then predecided dates for the lists of successful candidates. This way all students get an equal opportunity to stake a claim to the seats.. the current scenario is nothing but a method to haress parents who are eager to get their schools admitted to good schools. n i really wonder why did DOE wait till 28th October to issue it's guidelines. why did it not issue it well in advance...........
