Form Dates | Admission Criteria | Results | Fee Details | List of All Schools
Dear All
lets come together and suggest a number system that should be able to give equal opportunity to all the kids.
In my view following points should be considered ..
1. The number system should be unique and same for all the schools - no variations.
2. There should be clear demarcation of X Km circumference by each school.
3. In my personal opinion following can be thought of a basic seed to start the discussion and come-up with better solution.
a. Distance : i think 5 km should be coverage radius. Max Point 50, for 8 km 30.
b. Sibling: (Mostly parent would like to have kids in the same school)., 30 points
d. First child: 20 points
Lets try to improve on this.

Ravikant ji, in this case first child parent would always lose these 30 points of siblings........can be divide the points equally to both the cases......25 siblings.....25 for first child. I know by doing so we are just satisfying ourselves till the time govt/DOE listens to us.
But the sibling points should always be greater so as to give priority to sibling.
see following cases
d1 = 50 d2 = 30 s = 30 fc = 20
d1+s = 80
d1+fc = 70
d2+s = 60
d2+fc = 50
Those who are close by are higher and those with sibling are better prioritized.
Here one tweaking is possible to offer better points for sibling even if the child is from higher distance d2.
You basically want to continue the current point system in a different packaging. You have completely failed to understand the larger issue which is giving equal opportunity to each child.
no shiv ji.....he is right as a child who is not a first born then in which school the child will get admission and one more thing...if the siblings go in 2 different schools then there may be comparison between the two kids.....
Yes....there should not be the point of alumni, religious bases, profession of parents
There should be a centralized admission system. parents should fill only one form and they should give a list of preferred schools. after the form submission, an exhaustive algorithm will take all the details and find the the best match for each application and first list will be published. parents given one week time for fee submission and then again the algorithm runs for the second list. if needed there could be more iterations.
Hahaha Ravikant, I hope you realise we are in the year 2013 and in a country called India, let us be more realistic. I think the best thing is that since the government is refusing to take up the responsibility of opening more funded schools for the economically weaker section, they should reserve all seats in pvt unaided schools for EWS and we should be given a subsidy to home school our children. The education system in our country in any case sucks big time and to add to that the authorities like to stick their twisted finger into every pie they can..
My dear, Its India only where we have on-line exams, on-line counseling for many major exams. so why not start it here as well? I dont think there is any thing needed except the willingness.
D1-50, D2-30, D3-20............... Sibling-30, first child-20..............and Girl Child-10
Good suggestion, i have 2 queries
1. is it needed to have 3 distance levels?
2. but why to differentiate between a girl child and a boy child. Why should a parent be punished for having a first boy child not a first girl child?
Dear ravikant, men & women have near equal chances 4 sruvival, there r bound to be near equal no. of males & females in society, but In India, the female population is much lower than the male population (933 sex ratio against 972).........society has a marked perefrence 4 a male child, may be for perceived economic and traditional reason, bhai girls ko at least admission main chance to do....... 3 different distance criteria may change to 2 but still keeping the third doesnt makes any difference........ reserve rakhne main koi harz nahi ........:)
even running evening batches in school (eve school) may be considered....... like evening colleges .......... better utilization of resources n PTM attend karne ke leye off bhi nahi lena padega :)
