Criteria for nursery admission to remain unchanged this year

NEW DELHI: Ending days of suspense and anxiety for parents, the Delhi gover nment has announced that the criteria for nursery admissions this year will remain unchanged.

According to Delhi education director Amit Singla, there are no changes in the criteria for the current admission session.

This means that the points system, along with the freedom for schools to decide the criteria for points, remains.

Parents of three-year olds were eagerly awaiting any changes in the criteria as the High Court had asked the Lieutenant Governor (LG) to submit his recommendations on the matter. These recommendations were to be final.

According to sources, the LG has asked for some more time to come out with the new recommendations.“The education department has been directed to apply to the High Court for extension of the deadline as he wants to include more people in his consultations. That plus the uncertainty of government formation has made him ask for more time,” sources said.

The points system will give the schools the freedom to choose the criteria for the points system as well as the quantum of points in each category.

My rent agreement is 2 months old and i don't have a mtnl landline. however i do have an airtel landline. is it ok as proof of address? also is bank passbook sufficient as proof of address? where can i get a format for affidavit of first child?

Every school has its own list of acceptable address proofs. You would need to check with them. Passport, voter id would work with all school.

You can get Affidavit from any notary

Do they need address proof in name of both mother and father. Or proof in name of mother or father would work.

In my case My passport has a different address since it is 7 years old. But by son's and his mother's passport is from the current address.

So, Would mother's passport and chid's passport do ?

Yes Akhil, Either of parents should work

Thank god. Though I have got my Aadhar card on the current address, in case if they accept

Yes Akhil they will accept Adhar card.
