Fiat on ‘parents’ criteria for new nursery list only

New Delhi: Delhi’s Education minister Arvinder Singh Lovely clarified on Friday that doing away with the parameters of profession and education of parents for nursery admissions will apply only to those schools which are yet to bring out their lists. ‘‘Those students who have already been admitted will not be affected, but the schools should treat this as a warning for the future,’’ he said.
The last-minute direction by the Directorate of Education (DoE) regarding the points system has placed both schools and parents in a quandary. Just a couple of days before the final lists are to be declared, the DoE has got the admission criteria of several schools changed, primarily doing away with the parameters of profession and education of parents following a direction from the deputy education director, South.
With these directions binding on the schools, there is little the schools can do, and that too in the last stage of the admission process when many schools have already allotted seats to the students.
The principal of Ahlcon International School, Mayur Vihar, Ashok Pandey, said: ‘‘What can I do at this stage when we have in fact collected fees as well from our new students? All I can do is to refer it to the board of management to decide.’’
Meanwhile, Gyan Bharati School, Saket, had to alter its criteria to fall in line. As a result, the 30 points which were earlier being given to children whose parents
had high qualifications and belonged to specific professions will now go to children who are differently-abled or are transfer cases.
‘‘We acted on the direction of the deputy director. But this will completely affect the results of the candidates. All the application forms have already been submitted,’’ said the principal of the school, R C Shekhar. The school is expected to release the list of successful candidates on February 1.
Sanskriti School too is going to review the process. Principal Abha Sehgal said that though the direction has come a little late, the school has no other option but to abide by it. ‘‘We are looking at it and the points will be distributed against other criteria,’’ said Sehgal.
While the schools are claiming they sent a copy of their criteria to the DoE much earlier before the process started, they never received any objection. Many schools and parents feel it’s unfair to change the criteria after the submission of forms is over and results are being compiled.
‘‘We acted as and when we received the complaints,’’ said Lovely. ‘‘The schools might have sent their criteria to the DoE but did they receive any approval for such discriminatory criteria? Instead of issuing a circular, we are waiting for the parents to come forward with their grievances and participate in the systemic reforms. Meanwhile, I want to assure those parents and schools who have already taken admission or have already declared their lists that there will be no change in the list. Only those who are yet to declare their lists have to follow the direction.’’

Sumitji, it says that "We acted as and when we received the complaints" so that means everyone is happy with other criterias... Its really not done. I beleive that most of us here challenge other criterias of Sibling (in case of first child) and allumini too... Please suggest where and how to file these complaints. Its purely disgusting...
NO WORDS TO REPLY TO THIS. WHY SHOULD NOT THIS NEW ORDER BE APPLICABLE TO ALL THE SCHOOLS IRRESPECTIVE OF RESULT DECLARED OR NOT? SCHOOLS WHICH HAVE DECLARED THE RESULTS ALREADY I COULD NOT COME IN THIER LIST BECAUSE OF OTHER CRITERION, ALTHOUGH I WAS HAVING GOOD POINTS FOR DISTANCE. BUT NOW SCHOOLS WHICH ARE YET TO PUBLISH THEIR LIST, I DO NOT FULFILL DISTANCE CRITERION, NOW I AM ALSO OUT OF THIER LIST ALSO. THIS IS THE WORST EVER DILEMMA OF MY LIFE I HAVE EVER FACED.

Parents filled up forms considering criterion at that time and left some schools from filling up forms because they already ensured few schools based on parameters as on the day of filling up forms. Now when application forms are already closed, lists are about to be declared, interactions in some of the school already happened, now comes this DOE circular applicable in biased manner to yet-to-declare list schools.

Highly dejecting govt theories.....???? I give up.........?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
Good saying. if school have not received any confirmation on points system they submitted to DOE, that does not mean confirmation.

School have to wait un till unlimited time???????
