it will affect mainly people in govt jobs. Take for instance Blue Bells....One can get the certificate of transfer in govt - only if it is a central job. Above that the higher authorities won't issue a letter indicating the transferable job until it is really genuine. Whereas in pvt/mnc jobs it is very easy to get any such letters.
The schools should adopt a uniform policy of inducting nearby students. Even sibling and alumni is not justifiable - it creates a jinx of delhism(regionalism).
Points should be designed in way to benefit a large section of society - not to a particular class or section.
Because of DOE order - I, personally loose ground for all the schools I applied in. This almost confirmed that my kid is not going anywhere this year.
Nobody raised a voice against discriminatory point system of SPV/Modern/Father Agnel which is making a clear mockery of school admissions but that was justified by somebody on the grounds of ethics and principals. When DPS supported the case of both working parents - DOE should have acted that time itself as it suits only special class of people. This will be ultra ridiculous to see two different sets of lists based on two different criteria as most of the schools as out with their first list.
I think only those people come here on this blog whose wards didn't get a seat anywhere. Also the support for point system is evident from the "Yes" answers in a recent survey started on this site.
its clearly evident that ward of some influential chap couldn't get through the process. It's another issue that highly influential people in India are not even graduates - even if some are - that is merely for namesake.
Concerned parents should write to Times of India and HT journalists today. Their email id's are manoj.gohain@timesgroup.com and ritika.chopra@hindustantimes.com

Lets try to see whats the way forward rather than cribbing about what has happened and could have been done. I personally feel Mr. Lovely wanted to favour a few schools and hence he waited for their fee payment date to get over and kicked up this ruckus the same evening. I believe he deserves the points in the professional criteria if he ever applies for admissions for his kids. Done like a true professional.

To answer Sumit's query the following are the details of the schools and how much points we have lost:
Tagore - 30
Gyan - atleast 30
Heritage - 30
Sanskriti - 40
Laxman Public - 20
Ryan - 10
Bloom - 10

Now the points i would like to highlight are these three:

1. After this order we don't stand a chance in the most of schools which were very promising till yesterday
2. We had admissions in Amity which we have foregone since we had 70 points in heritage which was a school of choice for us. Now I am at 40 points in heritage. I have not stopped kicking myself. (But since Mr. Lovely is so friendly with Amity, may be he can help me get back my seat!)
3. The most critical issues is that we made a shortlist of schools to apply by seeing where we stand a good chance on the basis of the given criteria. Now we realise that in the chanced circumstances our entire short list was flawed and we shoud have applied to different schools, this means we have not been given a fair chance.

Now the way forwrd should be that some of us through this forum should club funds and take a stay order first thing Monday morning.

However, to clarify my stand let me say that inspite of both of us being PGs and professionals we see the sense in saying that a child's admission should not depend on the parent's qualifications. It is like the rich becoming richer story. But, the way this is done is bad and to be fair to us, all other discrimatory criteria should also be removed.

SUMIT, CAN YOU HELP US WITH THE STAY. WE WILL BE MORE THAT WILLING TO PAY FOR IT
Will a court stay resolve the situation? I doubt......Already the admissions has been made a full mess by litigations here and there. Whatever will be done in future will be some patchwork for the tear done by same people. It's like tear part of cloth to patch is somewhere else but does one realizes that tearing it at first place needs to be patched as well. There seems no remedy to the malaise as no solution can satisfy everybody vying for it.

There is no clarity of criteria now as what schools are going to follow. Will have to wait for first lists only, left with no other option.
Hi, I am in for it, can someone help us with a stay? It is just fare to ask for a complete implementation of an order even if it just has to be implemented - they cannot just let some schools have their say just because they completed their process before the schedule date. This certainly smells of foul play.
Also wouldn't it mean that in current condition the DOE order cannot be binding (since it is not applicable to all schools) - so how can they threaten to de-rognize some schools while others can go scott free ??
I think this is a valid case for the court to accept even if DOE officials cannot get this common sense.
Mr. Vohara - I think all parents are waiting for your reply, HOW CAN YOU HELP IN THIS REGARD ?

Read the article by India Today Mail News. So where Mr. Lovely now, he got all the attention he wanted, and when the difficult questions come in, instead of facing and correcting yourself, you go in hiding.
I think it is time the poiticians lern to own up whatever they do, for bad and for good. I really hope he prooves to be a sensible person by correcting himself soon.
I have mailed my reservations against the new DOE directive to Mr. Lovely. I request all parents to voice their opinion by mail to him. The option of sending a mail to him is available at the DOE website.

All the schools are coming up with the truncated point system according to the DOE order. As per Mr. Lovely it's of no use to be qualfied and be a professional. We put hard hitting efforts to attain this position just to see our wards not getting admission in even tier-2 schools. Well done Mr. Lovely - now he has assured another term for himself. I think a point system should be designed even for politicians. The school admissions have really gone haywire - all thanks to this excess intervention of politicians and thereby honorable courts.
It is really really so disgusting!
