Nursery admissions in Delhi will not begin on January 15 as some private schools on Monday moved the Delhi high court against the new guidelines, terming them illegal and arbitrary.
Some unaided private schools challenged a single-judge bench order that had on January 10 refused to stay the government notification setting down criteria for admissions.
The new norms were issued by lieutenant governor Najeeb Jung last month. Unaided private schools are those who do not get government grant.
The city has around 1.25 lakh nursery seats as against almost 1.50 lakh applicants. The top 50 schools get most applications even as seats remain vacant in the remaining 1,000 schools.
While it refused to stay the new guidelines, a division bench of justice Pradeep Nandrajog and justice Jayant Nath indicated that certain admission guidelines needed a "re-look".
“This (petition) needs detailed hearing. We are simply deferring the hearing without any order," the bench said. The Delhi government assured the court that it would not commence the admission process on January 15 and wait for its order.AS ADMISSIONS WONT START FROM 15JAN ,WILL DEPEND ON JUDGEMENT OF COURTS ON 15 JAN.

Sir.. what is justified is known to all .... but our laws r made not in a way to give justice. Laws are made by people who un schools themselves. Thats why we have this last mintue crap come in to way.
@Mahesh Jain
We should not be bothered with issues like LAST minute etc.
Soon it will be clear, we will have either old criteria or the new one, it is only a delay so why be on tenterhooks.
A few weeks/months delay in admission will not affect chances of a child becoming an Einstein.
Relax,
ALL IS WELL
Dear Sansan Sir, This is not the solution, Your ward will get admission in one or the other school and thereafter you will also leave this forum. But just think what creative you left for the forum. Baat to wahi huwi na mera kaam to ho gaya me kyun is jhamele me padun.
Anyways, Mr.Vohra and Sakshi alongwith other creative parents are there for helping parent community.
But i will remain here be sure for his .... i am a teacher and really concerned for all this....
I am on this forum since previous admission session & i am not looking for admission either...
My kids do not study here in Delhi, not worth it.
Do not worry I will be here & will not let you stray towards School's vested interests.
Hopeful sir.... but it makes all of restless when our lifes and epcially the life of our tiny tots future is hands of others.... @sansan
sansan ji, it is good to read that you will remain with this forum but you are not bringing creativity for education. Your ideas are self centred. Why can't think positively for other parties as well. What kind of support you will give to those whose could not get admission in any of the school and forced to continue with play schools?
Plz reply and also could you share me your credentials.
I was denied credit cards by cc issuers, so apparently I do not have any credentials..
Anyways, unless the seats available for admissions are more that of students seeking admission one cant gaurantee admission to all.
Every management quota means less seats for gen (read parents who can not afford/want to bribe the management) candidates. Oppertunity should be equal for all.
Dear Mahesh, Same thing i want to tell. why do we file PIL or a case without proper analysis? Do we run our family in this style? No, no..! if family can be peaceful like most of us then why can't our system? We are the persons who should suggest better ideas immediately after closure of this admission process 31.3.2014. Why to leave for Dec/Jan ?
We should fight for a transparent and just system welcomed by everyone including the applicant and the defendant. How much time of government is consumed, how much problem faced in planning our schedule for want of nursery admission? Amazing, disgusting? Plz fight in the very beginning to bring a permanent solution before December.
PIL was filed well before time, but cases do drag on.
further the present PIL is for setting the system right & not stop gap arrangement to be follwed for this year or another one & so on.
Once the court had asked the LG to set guidelines why did not the schools follow it ?
They choose to goto courts instead of following the LG guidelines.
You want to spread mis-conceptions amongst parents that it is PIL's filiers fault.
Which school management is prompting you, can we know ?
Nio mr. sansan, I don't have to do with school anything. My idea is to alert social jurists to act in the very beginning of the session. Can you tell me what is the filing date of this case or I should tell you the same. One Mr. Ashok Agrawal is fighting for years together, he should be supported by you with your just and pure ideas to bring transparency in the system of admissions making education for all a success.
Dear we should consult all possible persons useful for a reformative system.
