Minority schools in city begin nursery admissions~INDIAN EXPRESS News Courtesy~AdmissionsNursery .com

Allowed by the Delhi High Court to frame their own rules, many minority schools in the capital have begun the nursery admission process.

In schools like St Michael’s and Father Agnel, Christian students will get preference in admission procedure, irrespective of the distance. For admission to open seats, while St Michael’s is giving out 70 neighbourhood points to anyone who stays in an 8-km radius, Father Agnel is allotting 70 neighbourhood points to a child staying within 2 km of the school or 8 km, if he or she uses school transport.

Presentation Convent school is giving 50 points to Christian students. Fifteen points will be allotted to children staying within a 7-km radius, 12 points to those staying with a 7-to-10 km radius and 10 points to those staying 10 km and beyond.

Montford School, Ashok Vihar, is also using the staggered distance criteria with 70 points for children staying in a 0-2 km radius, 60 points for 2.1 to 3 km, 50 points for 3.1 to 4 km and 40 points for 4.1 to 8 km.

While some schools like Faith Academy and St Columba’s started giving out forms from January 15, many like Presentation Convent started the procedure on Thursday.

Many parents complained that schools were charging for prospectus. One parents said a school was charging Rs 250 for a prospectus.

No sakshi. ..They don't hv age break limits. ..jus d age of child as on 31 St March that's it...I try to upload the form also..

We did not have any option but to buy forms n prospectus for 500/-.

frank Anthony asking for SDM attested letter stating about the first born child

no SDM will attest a letter like this, even if you are able to get hold of SDM after N number of visits to the SDM office.

so what to do? kindly clarify whether it would be possible to get such a certificate form SDM or is there any other option which parents like me can opt

for this u require affdavit from notary made then get it attested by sdm of ur area only

SDM will surely do because it is his job. I just got it done for my kid. And the process is also simple. Just get the affidavit made from any of the typist  (who site outside the court) and take it to SDM along with address proof.

Presentation Convent doesn't have nursery admissions. They have the admissions open for KG (4+). See the link : http://pcscampuscare.org/NewGuideLine.aspx
