Minority schools in city begin nursery admissions~INDIAN EXPRESS News Courtesy~AdmissionsNursery .com

Allowed by the Delhi High Court to frame their own rules, many minority schools in the capital have begun the nursery admission process.

In schools like St Michael’s and Father Agnel, Christian students will get preference in admission procedure, irrespective of the distance. For admission to open seats, while St Michael’s is giving out 70 neighbourhood points to anyone who stays in an 8-km radius, Father Agnel is allotting 70 neighbourhood points to a child staying within 2 km of the school or 8 km, if he or she uses school transport.

Presentation Convent school is giving 50 points to Christian students. Fifteen points will be allotted to children staying within a 7-km radius, 12 points to those staying with a 7-to-10 km radius and 10 points to those staying 10 km and beyond.

Montford School, Ashok Vihar, is also using the staggered distance criteria with 70 points for children staying in a 0-2 km radius, 60 points for 2.1 to 3 km, 50 points for 3.1 to 4 km and 40 points for 4.1 to 8 km.

While some schools like Faith Academy and St Columba’s started giving out forms from January 15, many like Presentation Convent started the procedure on Thursday.

Many parents complained that schools were charging for prospectus. One parents said a school was charging Rs 250 for a prospectus.

father agent school asked to check on Monday. I went there and checked with the guard.

Khushwinder ji,

Please tell me whether the affidavit we need for first born child is made easily at SDM office. I also stay in Shivalik, which will come under the jurisdiction of SDM Saket.

I will get the affidavit made from the notary tomorrow but i am sure that the SDM will not be working on Saturday.

I will take the following to the SDM office:

1. Typed Affidavit from the notary

2. Address Proof (Passport/ Voter ID)

3. Birth Certificate

Will this be all. Or I am leaving out anything?

Will appreciate all help in this regards.

Hi Ruchi: keep affidavit and address proof with you, BC is optional (however good to carry). The process is very simple and whole exercise should not take more than 30 mins however depends on SDM's availability. I am not sure whether he will be available on Sat or not, however just be on the safer side go there on Monday. Don't spent extra money on touts, this should not cost more than Rs. 150. Get 3-4 copies attested, who knows some other school may come up with similar requirements.

Official timings for attestation from SDM is between 12 pm to 1 pm, however  he seems to be a good person and was attesting till 3 pm as well (I went there somewhere around 2 pm) . Good Luck!

Many thanks for a detailed and informative reply...

Good luck to you for your kid!!

Regards..Ruchi

Also wanted to know if this affidavit is School Specific..although I don't think they have asked for the same.

So far on faps have asked for it(as per my knowledge).
Does any one have the writeup for affidavit? Or is it available on fap website or notary people would already have it. Appreciate the info.
Thee typist/notary person shall have it.

@ Khushwinder

Thanks for sharing the info.

Thanks to you too lathaa and your team for all the updates and news.

Proof of first born ?

No proof required. Just carry your address proof ID. This attestation does not serves any purpose because SDM while attesting does mentions that 'FACTS NOT VERIFIED'. this is just the dummy formality which needs to be fulfilled, not sure what school is getting from it.
