If is it necessary to be non creamy layer person to avail benefit in DG category for a SC candidate

Today i went to Vasant Valley for Documents verification under DISADVANTAGED GROUP, but they reject my application saying that although you are having SC certificate issued by competent authority but you are also required to get a creamy layer or non creamy layer certificate because YOUR total salary exceeds Rs. 6,00,000 and  You cant take benefit under Disadvantaged group. But sir i have checked all the guidelines thoroughly, nothing is mentioned that a person having SC certificate , must have salary below rS. 6 LAK. Is it so, CAN HE REJECT MY SON CANDIDATURE or if not what else i can do.

Vasant Valley school has misguided you. It's only for OBC (non-creamy layer- who does not fall under creamy layer) a certificate is needed.

But for SC/ST no income limit. They can't reject your application. Refer DOE circular dated 7th Jan 2011 for EWS/DG category only thing which changed now is income limit of OBC non-creamy raised to 6L. Rest same.

File a complaint or  Use Nursery helpline No.  27352525 to complain or to district director Edn.

Moreover a DG group can apply both in General and EWS.

But it's shocking to know a reputed school does not know the basic admission guidelines.

Sir, Please tell me how do you think that you are a part of disadvantaged group.. you earn whopping 6 lakh rupees and you say urself disadvantaged..You earn Rs 50,000 per month but cant afford to pay fees of your child in Vasant Valley... Shame on this system...People from general category should realize that how the corruption starts.. Its the frustration from the system itself.. Most of the general candidates produce fake certificates due to these problems..

@ Ashu

Read the guidelines properly

Mr.Vinay has all rights to apply as per the guidelines. If Govt. has given provisions it is wise to make use of it.

Lathaa Ma'am: I can understand about the children with disabilities but not for SC/ST category.. I would not like to know what kind of disadvantage Mr Vinay is facing.. But if it only being SC, then I think its high time that you can voice our opinion over this issue that the reservation should be strictly on the basis of "Economic Status" but not on the basis of category.. A parent belonging to SC/ST/OBC may be wealthier than a parent belonging to general category(earning more than Rs 8000 per month).. Why this discrimination?

I can very well understand your frustrations but neither you nor Mr.Vinay can change the Constitutional rights or RTE Act 2009. Regarding nursery admissions we have to follow the guidelines by DOE and it is not wise to slip an opportunity available as per guidelines to get a seat for the child.

Children admitted under EWS/DG do not pay any fees/books/uniform etc. So there is monetary benefit.

There are thousands of parents who have their first child trying for admissions this year. Everyone is getting 70 points.

We are just saying that it is not fair to club EWS with DG. Let poor parents benefit from EWS and everyone else who can afford the fees should use general category (Remove DG, except for children with disability).

Exactly Vinay Sir and Lathaa Ma'am, I agree with Mr.Raman.. My intention is not to hurt anybody's sentiments.. but I am also applying for first time..I am against the fake EWS certificates being used for admission.there should be a strict checks against such cases...

Agreed.

You should fight for your rights.
