Schools holding ‘interactions’, allege parents
NEW DELHI: The application phase of nursery admissions may be over, but the scrutiny isn’t.
Many parents have alleged that some schools are planning to hold ‘interactions’ with the children or their parents before declaring the first admission list on February 28.
“I have been called for ‘verification of documents along with the child’ at a prominent school in west Delhi. I understand the part about the verification but why do I need to take my child along?” said a parent who did not wish to be named.
None of the parents wanted to be named as they were worried about sabotaging their children’s chances of admission. Screening and interaction with children and their parents is strictly banned as per the nursery admission guidelines. Flouting rules, however, is not new.
Every year, parents file complaints against many schools for calling them for an interaction. “No matter how strict the regulations are, a few schools always flout the guidelines. This year even old established schools are calling kids for an interview. This seems to be the effect of the removal of management quota,” said Sumit Vohra, founder, admissionsnursery.com, an online portal for parents. Hello Ms Rachel,
Its Gitarattan Jindal Public School, Sector-7, Rohini.
They are saying that if I want my child's name in the draw of lots for the girls quota then I've to give an affidavit stating that and I also have to mention in the affidavit that my child's name will not be there in the draw of lots for the general quota.
Looking at the probability of getting selected I chose general quota for my daughter.
I called admission helpline to register a complaint against the school, but they refused to register the complaint. They are saying that the school must be having limited seats.
The argument they are giving is really funny.
Every school has limited seats. Due to limited seats only the quota system is there..
I don't know whom I can contact to raise the issue.

how do we know about the dates for draw of lots of each school? DPS EOK has come up with notification about the date and venue? how about rest of schools in delhi?

@ Smriti - Have you submitted fees at SSMS ? They have called us for interaction , how can they take fees without final list ?

Mr Vohra, CAN YOU PLEASE TAKE ANY ACTION HERE. IF THERE IS NO UPPER AGE LIMIT, HOW COME DPS DWARKA HAS SHORTLISTED THE GIRLS LIST FOR THE DRAW WITH 3+ AGE AND IGNORED 4+ AGED STUDENT. THIS IS REALLY VERY VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED.
ANOTHER THING IS THAT HOW COME SUDDENLY SO MANY STUDENTS GOT TRANSFER POINTS. ISN'T VERY STRANGE. THEY HAVE DONE THE DEALS UNDER TABLE AND GIVEN THOSE PARENTS ADDITIONAL 5 POINTS WHO HAS GIVEN HEFTY DONATIONS.
THIS IS NOT WRONG TO SAY THAT SCHOOL HAS NOT STOPPED TAKING DONATIONS

Would request to all to send complaints on these email ids - drmadhuteotia@gmail.com and diredu@nic.in for complaints against DPS DWARKA and other schools who are NOT adhering to DOE guidelines.if there are many complaints then there might be some impact.

@Rikhi Khorana...I agree with u, todays bhattnagar international, vasant kunj called me come on Thursday along with child and some documents I don't know y? becz they don't charge me form money also, plzzz anybody tell me whats wrong with bhattnagar, vasant kunj, whats the procedure of bhattnagar, vasant kunj????

I think you have to take the child along. We have been to Saplings , junior branch for Bhatnagar paschim vihar.
It is just for original document verification. Child goes there just to get some candy and play with the toys etc. No interaction with the child.

SS Mota Singh junior , Narang colony is asking for parents to come along with child / originals / money and offering on-spot admissions if child clears the interaction.
Doon Public school , paschim Vihar is calling for interactions and fees deposits for "selected" candidates within next 1-2 days. How can there be selected candidates before 28 Feb ?
