As DPS RK Puram, had got around 9,000 applications. According the education experts, there are lesser chances of admission for parents having 70 points in draw of lots.
"Yes, those who are in 70 points category will not even have a chance event to go for a lottery. Point 75 category and above will be in face off of lottery. So my chance is over for DPS," said Shamshad Ahmed Khan, a parent.
According to a detailed analysis for the junior branches of DPS R K Puram, admission nursery expert, Sumit Vohra said, "No chance of admission for parents having 70 points as both the junior branches in Vasant Vihar and East of Kailash got 216 and 180 seats respectively against the application crossing more than 6,000 applications."
However, schools like Mt Abu got 1,900 applications against 140 seats for general category and 2500 application in EWS category against 35 seats, "Five are the sibling cases who will get the benefit of 20 points among the applicants, added Principal at Mount Abu Public School. Most of the schools like Springdales got 7,000 applications against 173 seats and school had received more than 1,000 application against 120 seats.

Sakshi, its very disheartning that new guidelines are not in favor of parents with first born child boy, we parents with only 70 points though close to good schools stands nowhere. Pls. raise this issue as most of the schools with higher no. of applications will not even consider draw of lots for 70 points.
I think we should strongly insist that schools verify all transfer cases before coming out with second list in March and forfeit admission fees for all such fake cases.
These analysis if proved correct would mean children with 70 points will not get admission in any school. I am shattered.
I think AnuBharti has raised a very good point.. Why should kids born and brought up in Delhi and in most cases their parents also born and brought up in Delhi be penalized as compared to the so called "transfer cases" ??? !!! It is so unfair ! For somebody who has been in Delhi all their life, they can not get their child admission in a good Delhi school.. BUT somebody who has just "transferred" to Delhi gets extra points so that their kid can get admission in a Delhi school... WOW !!! great thinking by the people who made the Guidelines.. Please Parents raise the issue : there should be some kind of reservation (50% or 90% or whatever) for Delhi Kids ... so that the poor Delhi parents do not have to spend sleepless nights worrying about admission for our kids.. and not go wandering to NCR schools (outside Delhi) for admission !!!
Dear Moderator ,
Absolute Fraud happening even in Big schools like DPS VV....Their waiting list for Girl Category has 2 entries which are atleast 15 kms (Way outside the Area Map given on DPS website) from i.e Punjabi Bagh and in point system it shows 70 points against their names,
1) V141512898MM - SARAH PRABHAKAR - HOUSE NO 65, THIRD FLOOR, WEST AVENUE ROAD, PUNJABI BAGH (WEST) NEW DELHI
2) V141510020AP - LABHYA AGGARWAL - 34/43 PUNJABI BAGH WEST NEW DELHI NA
Request the moderator to please look into this matter. And fellow parents lets spread the word to stop this kind of fraud.
Ramesh
We will inform more over in twenty days before 28th all scrutiny will be done as it is mentioned "subject to verification of documents".
Ideally schools should first verify the documents n then other proceedure of lucky draw n all. in verification only most forms wth wrong documents n details wud have got rejected...
I believe, it's too early to be frustrated and devastated! Each parent would have filled in 15 - 20 applications and would eventually choose only one school. With the point system, it was obvious that getting into older schools like DPS, Springdales etc would be difficult because of alumni points. I am positive that the situation won't be too bad in other better schools of the city. Bottom line, our kids would go to school (may not be the most preferred one). I haven't met many childern, who don't go to some school :)
Soon, we'll also witness schools in Delhi running double shifts to increase the capacity.
So let's just continue with our prayers & fasts and not feel too bad untill March 31.
