VIS 10 did not disclose any list of selected candidates. God knows how they selected, what basis was used etc. Total non-compliance with DOE guidelines probably. What do you think Sumitji?

I fully agree with Sumit Khanna. I have started another discussion forum regarding the same issue. VIS KIDS 10 have totally flouted the DOE guidelines. No list displayed and no clarity regarding the points. On what basis the candidates were selected or rejected? Moreover, why did they just call the parents and asked them to deposit the fee? I was called for the interaction with the kid and the day I was supposed to visit, they asked me in the morning not to come and wait until 1st Feb. Then how can they give a reply that there was no list displayed and selected parents were given a call.

Dear Sumit -my complain - the criteria shoudl have not have changed mid way .it also looks like Mr Lovely has acted at the behest of some parties with vested interest to twist the govt ruling
Just to turn the clock backwards, in 2007 Delhi Govt. issued guidelines to schools on nursery admissions which listed some basic minimum parameters but also stated that ‘Schools can also fix additional parameters but are required to stipulate a point system for each criteria/parameter’ as long as the criteria are not discriminatory and these are approved by Directorate of Education. The original order further states that ‘The school shall adopt those parameters which are in the best interests of children and are in line with its own philosophy’. Hence as per the original order, if a school wants to induct children based on a particular criterion, it is free to do so. And that means if Sanskriti or Bluebells wants to give weightages to parents education and professional qualification, it is free to do so. However Honorable Education Minister Mr. Lovely’s interpretation of this ruling is highly debatable. As per his interpretation schools cannot give any weightages to parents’ professional qualifications or jobs as, in his eyes, that is discriminatory. But at the same time, he turns a blind eye when schools give weightages to the wards of the Govt. Employee. How has he arrived at this interpretation and why being a Govt. Employee is not discriminatory is anyone guess. However it is important to note this is only his own interpretation and not as per the original guideline. Another interesting aspect of the original ruling is that it clearly states that the ‘The school shall not change, alter or modify its approved admission criteria during the admission process in an academic session’. Most of the schools in Delhi have admitted to changing their admission criteria in last week on January due to Mr. Lovely’s last minute diktat causing a huge inconvenience to parents. Why is Mr. Lovely turning a blind eye to this flouting of original Govt. order is not surprising. It is clear that if flouting of his own Govt’s rule suits Mr. Lovely and his agenda then it is acceptable.

My Complain is against Modern Humayun Road
1. They did not declare the admission criteria
2. In the interview the principal asked personal questions - niether related to parents education, nor to childrens upbringing. Questions were about who owns your house - whose name is the house on.... how do these things get considered for admission.... If my child gets admission, its my responsibility to ensure i have a roof over my head...

Sumit - Can you please help the parents who have been cheated in some or the other way by VIS KIDS? Can we do something to highlight the issue with this school? One possible way is to officially write a complaint at DOE website, but not sure how much it works. Looking forward for your expert comments on the same......

Dear Sumit ji and all fellow parents,
This is regarding St Gregorious School, Janak Puri, they have not disclosed the selection / rejection criteria. I was pretty sure to get my child’s name there as it is hardly 300 meters away from our house. When the first list came there were only form no and names but no points were mentioned there. I tried to enquire about the selection criteria but was not allowed to enter the school. Some junior staff members were roaming around……. one told me that they prefer Christians only, but it was not true as there were hardly 15% Christian names in the list (around 16-17 out of 121), then another person told me that this list is as per lucky draw but that was also wrong because there were many forms in serial no like 54,55,56,57 and 111,112,113,114,115……… then they told me to wait for the second list which is scheduled for 12th.
On 8th Feb I was just passing by the school, I saw around 25-30 people outside the gate I enquired and came to know that they all were not selected in the first list and now Father called them for a personal interaction. I asked the staff people on what basis you have called few people only and not informed the others they said we didn’t call anyone they kept coming everyday so father decided to meet them today. I asked that I also want to meet then; they refused and said we have already allotted tokens, in the meantime few more parents (Uninformed) reached and after some arguments they added our names to the list. I called my wife, we stood there for more than 3 hours in the rain, they were sending people in the batch of 5 at a time, after some time I noticed that very less people were coming out from the front gate most of the parents were using the back door. I tried to get feedback from the parents, some of them were in “no comments” mood (specially those are using back door), some shared their experience. To most of the parents they said that “we cater only nearby area people”, to some they said child’s mother is very less qualified, (I felt bad for them but good for myself as we both are post graduate and we live just 300 meters away from the school) when we went inside they straight away said try some other school we don’t have any seats, I asked them on what basis you have selected children, they replied everything is as per Govt rules, no further clarification, I said you are telling people that you are catering only nearby residents, they replied we have only 4-5 seats vacant and some people live closer than you. I didn’t argue much and came back, I was sure that I don’t have any chance but went for the second list today with a very less hope. I was surprised to see there were 44 names (again only form nos and name, again there were nobody to clarify or comment, again I was not allowed to enter the premises). I am very much frustrated now. Really don’t know how to react.
Please tell me what action can I take against them, I don’t want to send my child there anymore but want to make sure that if there is any foul play that should come in light so that next year no other parent will suffer like us. I am not saying that those 165 people are less deserving than us but I want to know their selection criteria. Please help…

Modern Purblic School Shalimar Bagh, Charging 25500 rs for the nursery addmission but providing the receipt of only 10500 rs. No answer for rest 15000 rs.
