WARDS LEFT OUT OF NURSERY SCHOOL LOTTERY, PARENTS SEE RED

NEW DELHI: Thrilled earlier by the new nursery admission guidelines, parents whose children were not made part of the lottery are now fuming.

Parents who have managed to score only 70 points through the neighbourhood criteria are a worried lot as most schools have not included them in their first lottery.

“Most schools have conducted the lottery among those students who have managed to score more than 75 points. The seats are being filled mostly by those children who have siblings in the same schools or whose parents are alumni,” said Sumit Vohra, founder, admissionsnursery.com.

Another big issue that has cropped up is the transfer points. Under the new guidelines, any child whose parents have been transferred to the city will be given 5 points.

A number of parents have alleged that those living in Gurgaon, Faridabad and Noida are taking advantage of the interstate transfer points.

“I don’t understand why anyone has to be given extra points for a transfer? Since neighbourhood is ideally the biggest deciding factor,”

According to experts, the first list will be contentious, filled with children who have got points in the sibling, alumni and transfer categories.

“We don’t want to condemn the guidelines. They are better than last year but neighbourhood points should have been given in a staggered manner so that a child who lived within a three kilometer radius would be assured of admission,” Vohra added

This is promising. Thanks for sharing the info. The school is taking the initiative to weed out fakes.

In my opinion, transfer cases should not be given any priority.  It seems we are being punished for living in Delhi.  My daughter's future is at stake due to "transfer"  clause.    I think the criteria has been made without thinking.

In continuous of my reply I just want to add, that other than these documents, if they have not satisfy then they checked GAS connection copy , bank account for address proof as well transfer from which date salary were crediting in account etc. , salary slip etc. but if the documents are fake then then will not fulfil the first criteria like electricity bill , MTNL bill, employer id , passport details can not be fake in case of international transfer.

my view is that parents are panic with fake comments which are just spread unnecessarily , I was also panic before but it not good to become panic with rumour , we should go in depth and still we have doubt about the transfer documents then they can go to school and check it, because spreading rumour is easy . I request to the people that please shown us any such transfer case with fake document from any school, then we can unite and fight against such frauds.

This is good, i hope the same is followed by all the schools. Strict scrutiny of documents will weed out fakes

Dear Amit, Will you please justify why the transfer case should get extra points??
