I agree with Shweta. DPS and schools like sanskriti are pretty much biased towards government employees. If educational qualification / profession of criteria cannot be chosen for rating a kid, then why govt. employees gets extra weightage. Also, another criteria is transfer of parents esp. working overseas. It is surprising to know people who come from outside are given preference over people who live permanently within delhi.

I personally feel only 2 criterias are good - distance, sibling. All others appear weird.

Dear Sumit -my complain - the criteria shoudl have not have changed mid way .it also looks like Mr Lovely has acted at the behest of some parties with vested interest to twist the govt ruling
Just to turn the clock backwards, in 2007 Delhi Govt. issued guidelines to schools on nursery admissions which listed some basic minimum parameters but also stated that ‘Schools can also fix additional parameters but are required to stipulate a point system for each criteria/parameter’ as long as the criteria are not discriminatory and these are approved by Directorate of Education. The original order further states that ‘The school shall adopt those parameters which are in the best interests of children and are in line with its own philosophy’. Hence as per the original order, if a school wants to induct children based on a particular criterion, it is free to do so. And that means if Sanskriti or Bluebells wants to give weightages to parents education and professional qualification, it is free to do so. However Honorable Education Minister Mr. Lovely’s interpretation of this ruling is highly debatable. As per his interpretation schools cannot give any weightages to parents’ professional qualifications or jobs as, in his eyes, that is discriminatory. But at the same time, he turns a blind eye when schools give weightages to the wards of the Govt. Employee. How has he arrived at this interpretation and why being a Govt. Employee is not discriminatory is anyone guess. However it is important to note this is only his own interpretation and not as per the original guideline. Another interesting aspect of the original ruling is that it clearly states that the ‘The school shall not change, alter or modify its approved admission criteria during the admission process in an academic session’. Most of the schools in Delhi have admitted to changing their admission criteria in last week on January due to Mr. Lovely’s last minute diktat causing a huge inconvenience to parents. Why is Mr. Lovely turning a blind eye to this flouting of original Govt. order is not surprising. It is clear that if flouting of his own Govt’s rule suits Mr. Lovely and his agenda then it is acceptable.
Management Quota - Some schools like shri ram, dps etc have management quota. Can you please throw some light on same? Does this refer to paid seats?
sir
springdales school, pusa road did not give marks for jain religion. whereas govt of delhi as declared jain as minority in delhi. When i represented the principal wrote that she has given marks for jain religion. she did not give the breakup of marks. she said i have secured zero marks in question answer. and 10 marks in jain religion. how can they cut marks from question ans. and adjust in jain religion marks after the representation. Principal should be suspended for doing wrong and supporting the wrong deed instead of making correction.
thanks

Leave out that school. There are more good schools in Dwarka where you can admit your kid.

hello

I have applied to 15 schools for admission of my daughter anoushka in nursey, but not got her admitted to anywhere.

Now i am really confused since schools ae not entertaining for even mangement seats, please give me some suggestions to solve my problem.

regards

ashwani

My compliant is agianst Shriram Vasant Vihar. In case of tie they conducted so called draw for children having 45 points. there were 18 seats against 200 applications. But they never called anybody for the draw. However the school claims for the fare draw but i have talked to some parents and came to know that none of them including me were called for the draw. I think only the favourite parents for whom the admissions were already decided had been called in for  the draw. Is it a possible that twin children names were pickedup in the draw. This time there has been a gross mismanagement by some HIGH HEADED schools due to the Imprudent policies of hardly Hon'ble Mr.Lovely.

Secondly Modern Vasant Vihar also never mentioned the number of points alloted to each parent. So many complaints have been filed to the DOE but DOE is least concerned and sleeping on these complaints. HOPE they will wake in the next session???????

CAN ANY BODY GUIDE ME HOW AND WHERE TO TAKE ACTION AGAINST THESE ERRANT SCHOOLS. I think the aggreved parents should come forward and file compliants jointly. Admissions in this session are almost over but any timely action at this juncture might bring some fruitful results.
