Nursery Admissions in Delhi NCR 2026-27

NEW DELHI: Nursery admissions, which are on in full swing in the city, have left a large number of parents disappointed. The children of most of these parents could not make the cut to any of the schools this year after a draw of lots. SONU MEHTA / HT Parents protest against lack of transparency in the nursery admission process at Jantar Mantar on Sunday.

Miffed at the way the admission process was carried out, a group of parents from Admissionsnursery.com on Sunday staged a protest at Jantar Mantar, demanding greater transparency in the inter-state transfer points allotted to the parents.

They alleged that the interstate transfer criterion was subject to manipulation.

“Even though the DOE has allotted five points to interstate transfer criterion, it proved unfair for most of us. It is completely ambiguous and leaves a lot of parents at a disadvantage,” said Tarun Bhattacharya, a parent.

Some parents had applied to as many as 30 schools. But their hopes too have been flagging as the lottery process in these schools progresses. With more than 4.5 lakh applications received by nearly 970 private schools in the city, parents say that chances of their children making it to a school of their choice are slim.(Data Given by Mr Sumit Vohra)

“Most parents who have applied to schools have 70-75 points. Of those who have 75 points, there are parents with points for alumni or inter-state transfers. All these parents are put through the lottery process. So for an average of 100 seats, there are nearly 1,5002,000 applications and most of us end up being left out,” he added.

Very  well said Bhuwan .

LG sir, your nursery point system is a Curse to 95% parents of Delhi, Pls listen to us

Outsiders are getting admission and we the people of Delhi are helpless. Do not understand how does such a huge amount of people got transferred. I think 95% of cases are fake

With due regards to our LG and Judiciary system, I think this time they have made a big mistake while framing this new points-based policy. "Distance Points" should have been with some slabs e.g. 0-2, 2-4, 4-6 kms etc; so that almost all the candidates would get chance atleast in some of the schools. And this "Interstate transfer" thing is total bull****, which has been highly MISUSED by the so-called "SMART" parents. And I believe they will have to pay somewhere, sometime if they have provided fake certificates. All said and done (actually not done), DOES ANYBODY HAVE SOME SOLUTION instead of just expressing yourself?

Actually it is very easy to fake a Transfer document as it does not involve any government approved document.
Ashish Ji even the so called SMART parents are also in soup now as the general seats left for draw after allotting sibling seats are very few say around 35-60 depending on school size where as the SMART parents 75 pointers applicants are many folds more 180-350

This is only because of the arbitrary process of giving 5 points to the transfer cases.

Transfer has not been defined earlier but later changed to 01.01.2013.

why it can not be given to every student whose parents migrated to Delhi some time back and the child is first child.

So only points which they will get is 70 and that will not secure admissions because the SCHOOL CONSULTANTS have got added 5 points to every child whom they have helped.

@ jug raj, who are School Consultants ?
We are paying tax and other state people are getting admission in nursery...where my kid would go????
