Is alumni points justified
Untill and unless alumni points are scrapped together with transfer pointers than only we 70 pointers will not get seat in any school.As I feel in all schools where draw is for 75 pointers ,50% are alumni and hence they are in waistline.now those seat will get confirmed after transfer r put in 70 points and there will not be any chance for 70 pointers.Schools will not take the pain to redraw and they will only fill the vacant seat from the wait list. Alumni r always welcome in every schoolSo we have to appeal for scarping of alumni points also and only than it will be fair for all kids..

Totally agree with you. People don't acknowledge the demand supply gap. That's all that it is.

==========How it should be=================
a) Sibling =70+20=90 (Justified)
b) First "Girl" Child= 70+5=75 (Justified)
Then it is justified.. to get better chance for girls.

Every child is equal being a Boy or a Girl is not known to the kids they don't know that people differentiate that. See for girl quota 5% seats are already there. I am a father of first girl child too still want point for first child instead of first girl child only. In central Delhi top schools you have 3 top schools for Girls Only in comparison to only one for Boys Only. I know statistics will be not same in every area but still 5% quota is there and is justified by keeping in mind that still girls are treated as par with boys in our country..but this situation is changing..mindset is changing towards girl childs.

Please question all parameters and not just alumni points...
1) Why should all people within 8 KM be given the same points....we need to have a gradation on the basis of distance
2) Why have a quota for girl child.. What is the need for gender bias in co-ed schools...
3) Why should siblings be given as much as 20 points. They should be given 5 points and then allow to compete with the rest as a part of a lottery.
Please analyze all issue holistically, rather than just targeting alumni.

@anshul porwal - I am sure you would have had a different set of parameters had your child been a boy...there should be no points for girl candidates (except for the ones in EWS)

It is not an IIT or IIM level course where giving points to alumni would be wrong. Some rules have to be set to avoid utter chaos. If we are all competing for 50 seats among 10,000 applications, we will all lose together.

Now, Points for Alumni and Sibling should be removed for Nursery admission. Such points are not allocated for admission in any College. Then why for Nursery admission??????????????

There is no system for Alumni and Sibling points for admission in the colleges. Students are getting admission based upon their luck and capability. Therefore, in Nursery admission, Alumni and Sibling points should be discarded. What is the background for giving advantages for such parents?????

Absolutly wrong as it is dynastic in nature. Reservation(it is in a way reservation) is justified for uplifting of the less privileged. But to create elitism through special privileges where the schools have got grants from the public money is totally unjustified!!!

It is the alumni that builds the reputation of a school. Why would everyone want to apply to a select set of schools. It is because of the reputation built for the school by the alum over the years. Also this isn't a free-for-all going where everyone can question everything. Transfer points were scrapped because there was discrepancy found in their case. Please provide proof of discrepancy in alumni cases
